Jakebyrne123 0
Thanks for the quick reply. I don't have those options available. At least I don't have ones that don't say dx11. I've attached a screenshot of my advanced.
Jakebyrne123 0
No, for the recent Window versions, DirectX is always part of the OS. The times where you had to install a DirectX runtime are gone. The problem is rather about the Intel driver. For Gen 4 and Gen 5 CPUs, the included drivers do not support DX11 very well. From your hw detection log I could see that the DX9-Codecs are available as well: Please activate the yellow ones and deactivate all others. Also one other thing. Would quick sync still cause an issue even though I'm direct playing?

I remoted into the PC at work and theres the options you gave. Not home till 6pm my time but will post an update then. But my issue with this is that I was having a problem direct playing content, not transcoding. You think this will solve it? As in will it make a difference dp content? Jakebyrne123 0
Also sorry, I ran the directx installer anyway just to be safe and it ran. As in, it didnt say this component is already installed or anything. So maybe it was an issue with Direct X. Again wont be home for abour 8 hours so will update then. Jakebyrne123 0
Hi, no luck turning the transcoding settings off. I get no more than a few seconds into any 1080p or 4k movie. i have attached fresh logs but every log in here is the problem. Check each log. Aquaman 4k, Gravity 1080p, Kong 4k, John Wick 4k. All freeze. Great, thanks. Logd.zip
martin2577 0
Hi everyone . Same problem here since upgrading to server 4.4. Seems to be the size of the file. E.g. Movie 2.2GB 1080p h265 10-bit plays fine, Movie 8.8GB 1080p h264 won't play Was working fine until 4.4. Whats changed? Have you stopped supporting windows 7? "too many errors. Gave up" "no compatible streams are currently available" Affects all clients; samsung tv, amazon fire, android, Windows uwp

Jakebyrne123 0
Great, thanks. Tried downgrading to 4.3 but still freezing on direct play. Im just not sure whats going on. all the movies I could play last week on Plex and Emby are not running now. They freeze on direct play so it can't be a transcoding issue. I also have a receiver and speakers so ive enough audio channels? Could it have anything to do with the receiver, its a new denon?

Jakebyrne123 0
do they still play on plex? They didnt a few days ago. Which I suspect is part of a larger problem. Cause they did play on Plex but stopped when I moved to emby and tested plex.
Luke 36879
There's a performance problem here, not an Emby problem. Notice the fps in your ffmpeg logs is very slow. Is the media stored on a really slow storage device?

Luke 36879
I think it's worth testing to put a video on the same machine as the server and try that to compare.
Jakebyrne123 0
Will do when i'm home. Wil also run a defrag too. That could be an issue as I've downloaded a lot.

m0t0k0 2
I had very similar problems the this on windows 11. I found a setting on windows apps>video playback "process video automaticaly to encance it" I switched this off and my playback issues went away. Stupid windows getting involved in everything
