Do you have one?

If so, are you satisfied with it or are there issues?

Does anyone have this running as a server?

If so, how does HW transcoding do?

yep, it's the best bang for the buck imo.  I have it on the kids' tv and it works great.

no idea about it as a server, however.

Thanks!

Happy with my mibox as a travel device. It’s no shield but great value

In which way would you consider the Shield better regardless of the price?

Both more powerful and compatible.

Any screen shots of the OS? Is it AndroidTV or Andriod? Might pick one up for a travel box too!

The Mi from Walmart is true Android TV.

Nice! I just saw the screen grabs on the Walmart page. How's the performance of page loads and file processing on these boxes?

It is a good box.  Basically, the only thing it lacks is HD Audio.  I use this box for most of my testing of the app.

Spaceboy

Another plus is it can be powered by usb. In a hotel right now with my mibox connected to the tv for both power and video. I had one tv which didn’t supply enough power through usb but that’s one out of like 20 in the last year

Looking for a good apk for Prime Video. The box says downloading isn't enabled so I'll need to drop it on a USB Stick and use File Commander.. maybe I will install apkpure or aptoid while I'm at it.

It looks like the box is on the previous AndroidTV that was on ShieldTV. Any way to update that? The current version of AndroidTV on the ShieldTV is superior.

not really.  you can check over at the xiaomi forums for the mi box.  they're pretty slow to implement ATV updates.

I think what Spaceboy is saying is, if you connect that USB port to a powered USB connection on a TV, then you won't need the other power supply connection.
