@@adrianwi sorry for the late reply, i didnt notice that you had problems with the x265 lib that wasnt resolved with changeing from quaterly to the latest pkg train. BTW, i am also running 4.3.0.30 and it works well, however i did a quick test yesterday with 4.4.0.1 and there were some issues playing content so i switched back, i haven't had time to dig in but for now i stay on 4.3.0.30.

I had the same problem and luckily found this thread. I am using Freenas and with the change to latest package it solved my problem. 

I checked the emby install site where is only a small hint which I had overseen completely:

 

 


First, make sure your FreeBSD system is configured for latest packages.

 

I would have helped me a lot if there would be a help how to do this (like described in this thread) and not only a small side note which can be overseen quite quickly (esp. as in the past it was always mentioned that the jails have to configured to quarterly patches)

Which formats are you having trouble playing?
