No compatible stream available

Recommended Posts

Hi,

running ET on W7 on my Emby Server I get "no compatible stream is currently available" for all movies.

On the same system the web client plays the movies.

On other systems (W10) ET can play the files.

Setting the ET player to VLC doesn't solve the problem.

Error screen, ET log, MPV log and VLC error attached.

Any thoughts?

Hi I played the same copy of Return of the Jedi each time.  Files are on a NAS, but mapped as a drive under W7.

Here is what I did:

1. Chrome Web Browser: W7 where Emby Server is installed.  Successfully played.

2019-09-25 08:12:18.628 Info App: ProcessRun 'StreamTranscode 4b1175' Execute: C:\Users\brucesm\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\system\ffmpeg.exe -f avi -i file:"M:\Star Wars\Star Wars VI\Star Wars Episode VI - Return Of The Jedi.avi"

2. Emby Theatre 3.0.9 on W10 Laptop, via WLAN successfully played.

2019-09-25 08:16:32.532 Info App: ProcessRun 'StreamTranscode 7ad9fb' Execute: C:\Users\brucesm\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\system\ffmpeg.exe -f avi -i file:"M:\Star Wars\Star Wars VI\Star Wars Episode VI - Return Of The Jedi.avi"

3. Emby Theatre 3.0.9 on same box as 1. fails to start

2019-09-25 08:18:32.514 Info App: ProcessRun 'StreamTranscode cc92c9' Execute: C:\Users\brucesm\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\system\ffmpeg.exe -f avi -i file:"M:\Star Wars\Star Wars VI\Star Wars Episode VI - Return Of The Jedi.avi"

Spinning circle, after about 2 minutes, incompatible stream error on screen....

2019-09-25 08:20:32.441 Info SessionManager: Playback stopped reported by app Emby Theater 3.0.9 playing Return of the Jedi. Stopped at 0 ms

thanks.

Hi,

attaching some new logs,

I can see an error in the ffmpeg log

Error initializing output stream 0:0 -- Error while opening encoder for output stream #0:0 - maybe incorrect parameters such as bit_rate, rate, width or height
Conversion failed!

Movie plays in the web browser.

Any help appreciated,
thanks,
Bruce.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi,

still hoping for some help.

This and other files play OK in the browser, it also plays from ET on my W10 laptop, but not on the ET on the W7 box where ET is installed.

I have attached a new (small) Server log.

Playing starts at:

2019-10-12 14:21:49.357 Info SessionManager: Playback start reported by app Emby Theater 3.0.6 playing The Abyss. Started at 0 ms

And stops at:

2019-10-12 14:25:49.448 Info SessionManager: Playback stopped reported by app Emby Theater 3.0.6 playing The Abyss. Stopped at 0 ms

What other info do I need to provde?

thanks...

Please try removing the external player setup for music and see if that makes a difference. thanks.

Hi Luke,

Thanks for the reply.... I added the external player because of the problem with Emby Theater not playing music. Since my post I already removed the external player but I'm sorry to report the problem persists.

Try configuring the sound settings in the app based on your setup. Make sure you've configured Windows sound settings as well. Seems to be working just fine here in my testing.

Windows 10 sound is OK.

Using Emby in a browser on this PC works OK. Movies play OK in Emby Theater .

I already tried audio settings. Assuming I'm looking in the right place (dont normally use Theater) under Audio and playback?
