Understanding capabilities.json for devices

Hi All,

I'd like to be able to set device preferences so that emby automaticaly knows to use these settings on that device.

For example, on my main TV, I would want emby to use HD Audio or DTS/AC3 where possible and not default to the 'default' AAC Stereo Audio track.  Likewise for 4K or HDR - if it's available, then it should use those files.

Each device has a capabilities.json file in \programdata\data\devices\ and this appears to be where the device settings are held and I'm wondering if these can be manipulated to set capabilities as 'preferences' ?

Has anybody played with these settings ?

Hi.  Those are only used for DLNA playback from the server.

Each app queries the device at the time of playback to determine the capabilities.
