Issue with recordings

previous emby server/ apple tv app version, when i set my recorded videos as tv shows content type, it was able to view the folders within the library and display the videos, and if a video was in two parts, it automatically plays the next video within the folder, but now on the latest version, emby apple tv app doesn't display anything, can't even set the view to folders view, i had to set the content type to either home videos & photos or mixed content for emby apple tv app to be able to display the folders and videos within it, but the problem is it doesn't automatically play the next video if the video have parts like 1st half and 2nd half.

 

if i play the videos thru a web browser, i can change to folder views and also have the option of play all from here, but thru apple tv emby app, no option to bring up the menu on a video to be able to select play all from here.

 

btw emby for iphone/ipad works great. only emby for apple tv have this issue.

I'm not sure I fully understand the problem here. Are we talking about Live TV recordings? If so are we then saying a library was added pointed at the Live TV recordings folder but with the 'TV Shows' type?

 

Either way neither the TV or Movies libraries show the Folders tab because we don't have enough tab space to do so. So if no content is displayed I suspect it's due to lack of metadata for the TV library.

yes, live tv recordings, sometimes i record football/soccer matches and edit out the halftime breaks, then i split the game into 1st half and 2nd half, on older version of the emby server, on my recorded videos library, if i set the content type to tv shows, emby for apple tv app displays the folder of the said game and i was able to play the 2 videos as emby automatically plays the next video as it was set to tv shows as content type, but now on the lastest emby server and apple tv app, if i set the content type to tv shows, now emby for apple tv doesn't show anything at all. it only shows the folders (and its contents) if i set the content type as mixed photos & videos.

 

i hope you could look into it. as it was working quite well before. thank you

So essentially we need to support the Folders tab in TV libraries. That's how you're using it in the web app, right?

yeah on the web app (web browser) i can easily click on the folders tab/view and then click my desired folder containing my recorded video / sports games, then click on the three dots then select and click "Play all from here".

 

i hope  you guys can add that option of being able to have the option of "Play all from here" in the apple tv emby app. that would sort it out basically. coz as of now, there's no way of bringing out that menu on the emby for apple tv.

Yeah, there is no such thing as a context menu in Apple TV and we are also limited in the number of tabs we can have in any given section.  So some of this becomes more challenging on this platform.
