crusher11 842
There's metadata in specials for them to occur before or after a given season, but is there a way to have them occur mid-season? There's an "after episode" option but I'm not sure how that combines with the "before season" and "after season" options.

crusher11 842
Right, I posted in that thread. I'm still not clear about what metadata fields I need to fill out if I want the Special to appear, say, between episodes six and seven of a season. vdatanet 1548
I have this similar post: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/76104-next-up-when-playing-season-specials/ I want to play S00E01, S00E02, S00E03, S00E04, S00E05, S01E01... Metadata is correct. This is metadata for Episode S00E05: But show doesn't appear in "Next Up" when you play episode S01E01.

crusher11 842
Post #12. Which season do I put in "airs before season"? The season in which I want it to air, or the season after?
ebr 14850
Which season do I put in "airs before season"? The season in which I want it to air, or the season after? Neither one. Airs after episode and airs before season are mutually-exclusive options. If it is a mid-season special, then fill in the airs after episode number and leave the others blank. crusher11 842
But Specials are listed as season zero, correct? They don't have seasons associated with them. So if I put "airs after episode 5", how does it know which season's episode 5 to put it after?

So if I put "airs after episode 5", how does it know which season's episode 5 to put it after? To be honest, never looked into any Special episode metadata, they were just there, I guess either from metadata scraped from TVDB or date-based. Anyway, had a look at few random ones, and for each of them it is the same configuration: - Airs before season - ACTUAL season is stated - Airs after season - BLANK - Airs before episode - Episode before you want it to play Edited August 5, 2019 by GrimReaper76
ebr 14850
Okay, sorry - that's what I get for going from memory. It is the "Airs after season" that is mutually exclusive. For the others, they work together... e.g. Airs before season x episode n
Solution Happy2Play 8138 Posted August 5, 2019 Solution Share Posted August 5, 2019 (edited) Yep Airs before season: will put the episode at the beginning of the season.Airs after season: will put the episode at the end of the season. And if a special airs within a season you can use "airs before season" with "airs before episode" to make it appear and play after a specific episode in the season. The information will come from TVDB and episodes should be named accordingly, but if they do not appear on TVDB you can apply the appropriate info in metadata manager. Note Next Up does not currently honor displaying Specials in Next Up. They will play if you have "Play next episode automatically" enabled.
