Invalid user ID or Password

Hey everyone, I just set up a Fire Stick on my son's TV and after I log into the server and I try to select user, it keeps saying Invalid User ID Or Password, anyone know why? Thank you for your time.

Thank you, Amazon Alexa was the closest I could find to a Fire TV.

Hello, I tried both users, one with password and one without password, both gave the same error.

 

I am running Emby Server Version 4.1.1.0

Can you please list out exactly what you are doing and what is happening?

1. I open the app in the Vizio TV.

2. I select my Server.

3. I click on user Adam. (no password set up for him.

4. I get the error on the second image.

Hi.  On that same screen there is a "Send Logs" button.  Can you please cause the problem, then hit that button and come back here and tell me exactly what time you did that?

Sorry it took me so long, I was busy this weekend. I just sent the Logs at 6:19pm EST. Please let me know what you find. Thank you!

Hi.  Can we please see the server log from that same session?

 

We are getting a 403 return from the server which would be for an invalid password.

Hi.  There is no authentication attempt in that log.  Are you sure that's the right one?

That was the Top Log in the Logs page. I also looked in all the other Logs from previous days, you can look at the one I put in my previous post, and I can't see anything about that event.

Okay, so that would indicate that something between the Fire TV and your server is stopping it because I can see the server connection and then the request for the list of users coming from your Fire and then there is no more communications at all with that device to or from the server.

 

We recently had another user with this problem and their router or other security software was blocking the login request.  I'll have to see if I can dig that up to see exactly what it was.

That fixed it. Thank you very much!

 

My AntiVirus was detectining it as an online threat. I am using Bitdefender Antivirus 2019. I didn't have my widget activated so I didn't notice the notifications on it!

 

I'm glad this worked, my son is going to be excited to watch on his bedroom now.
