Playback jerky on Amlogic TV box S905X2

Exactly same problems with x96 max 4/64 GB. I understand that we don't have Android TV installed into our boxes, but the thing is that I have chosen it like that, in order to have all apps available to Google play.

About Emby , why even we can't use the Emby for Android TV, the mobile app that we can use is jerky? Why the Emby add-on in Kodi works GREAT? It's not hardware Issue then. I think developers should fix this because there is a great amount of boxes that are not Android TV and there are many users that like them this way. Unless Emby want to be like Netflix app...

Hi.  Our Android TV app is built specifically for Android TVs.  There are features in this platform that we don't want to give up.  There are lots of good options for true Android TV devices and even most that aren't can be made to work with proper software updates.

Thanks.

Respectfully, I don't think I've implied to give up android TV app but you could check why it's not working to those boxes or you could see why the mobile app is jerky considering that Kodi add-on is working great and also web player.

Thanks!

Are you still running into this?

Hello, unfortunately the same problem occurs but I have something new to share!

I've bought a similar brand TV box with amlogic s905x3 soc (not official Android TV but Android version 9) and the problem is not there. The Emby app is working great.

Don't get me wrong but I am always wondering why people buy boxes like that instead of buying a Mi Box for almost the same money with genuine Android TV and a flawless working Emby app.

Don't get me wrong, but I am always wondering why people buy the cheapie MiBox when there are much better boxes with better hardware...... :)  Emby plays flawlessly on them.

He was using Kodi and not the native Emby app, right?
Also not using Android but Libre- or CoreElec.

I meant native app vs. native app.

Not saying that Libre-/CoreElec is bad though.

I also wanted to give it a try but not having much time now.

no,

I have the same problem but with the a95max.

The problem is with the Emby App.

There is no stuttering going Kodi, its just a pain in my opinion.

The app is much easier to navigate and that section works well its just playback stutters.

Mine is a95 x f3 slim with Android 9 and I don't have the problem. The problem is with my x96max Android 8.1. Do you think is the different Android version or the soc?

spoke too soon, seems to be better for some videos .
For some its even 100%, ie no stutter. I  think maybe those at lower resolutions.

But for other videos still alot of stutter.

Its a shame as personally I feel the app much much better than Emby.
I've just swapped a video from the app to Emby for my daughter and again all the stuttering is gone.

yes running Emby Mobile App on A95Max Android box.

https://www.geekbuying.com/item/A95X-MAX-S905X2-Android-8-1-4GB-64GB-TV-Box-411536.html

But I need to check the files spec on Windows ?
That what I've done above the output is from VLC ?

Are you asking something different ?

(As I say files play fine through Kodi - Emby Extension fine on same Box)

Im not sure what you mean ? The media was not on the Android Box.

Its on my windows 10 PC elsewhere in the house.

Media plays fine on Android phone off the same router.

And in the same Box but through Kodi, its just through an Android Box and the Emby app.
