Guide taking hours to load

I have emby set up on Ubuntu 18.04.  For the first few weeks (I've gone through several installs in that time) the refresh guide scheduled task took nearly 24 hours to complete.  I tried it 2 days ago and it got to 100% after about 18 hours but from the Dashboard it never moved to completed, just stayed at 100%.  I left it for a few hours but when I restarted it the scheduled task said "completed in 1 hour 57 minutes, cancelled by user" or something similar.  Last night I ran it again and it was at 100% in the morning ~8 hours but the same 100% issue was occurring.

The Scan Library scheduled task also takes > 12 hours to complete.

I have a HDHomeRun Prime setup with the SD and music channels disabled on the HDHomeRun side leaving 122 channels.  I have the number of days to retrieve data for set to 2 days.

Any ideas what's going on? Whenever the scheduled tasks are running, which is most of the day, the web ui is basically unusable and the app on my samsung tv is actually unusable.

Thanks in advance.

yeah something isn't right.  I have a similar setup w/ roughly the same number of channels and it takes minutes to complete.

There's a lot of

Info App: Cleaning item null type: LiveTvProgram path:

some of which take multiple minutes until the next logged instance.  So something's clearly not happy.  I'm not sure what that actually does so I defer to @@Luke.

Have you tried removing the schedule and starting over?

Thanks Mastermind11.  I did try removing the schedule and starting over.  I just removed it from the web ui.  Should I be doing anything else for that?

Hey Luke.  This is what I get when I go to the dashboard and click logs. I just viewed and saved it.  Is that not the full log? The attached version here is the copy from my /var/lib/emby/logs/emberserver.txt file.

Or am I doing it all wrong?

Thanks for looking.

Taking hours is not normal. Is it actually finishing, or are you stopping it?

I am letting it run still as it is still adding log entries like " Info App: Cleaning item null type: LiveTvProgram path:" or sometimes with a program name instead of null but it's just stuck at 100% and hasn't moved since my original post (although still adding log entries).  Also, my scan library scheduled task has now been running for about 6 hours and is 99.6% complete.  Same thing happened yesterday and it got to 99.8% after about 18 hours and then i canceled it so the refresh tv data might finish.

Yea try stopping the scan and then letting the refresh guide finish. What's happening is that it's cleaning out old entries and taking a long time. Once it finally finishes it should be faster after that.

It finally stopped running last nigh.  I restarted the server and ran the refresh guide task again.  It took 5 hours 40 minutes this time.  It's only doing 2 days worth of downloads and the scan library task is turned off so as not to interfere.  Attaching my logs for the most recent info.  Thanks for the help.

Attached are the specs.  The os is running from a thumb drive. I ran it again this afternoon and it took 2:45 minutes.  Presumably it's saving some time by not having to delete old entries but it still seems to be taking far longer than I would expect.

Also, this same hardware had previously been running emby for a while without issue but I destroyed the OS trying to do some other stuff.  This problem has been occurring since the re-install.

Thanks for your help.
