yobrevar 1
My Issue throws the same error in WMC 8.1 when trying to launch Emby within WMC, only after the machine wakes from sleep. I'm running Emby as a Service. I notice my local machine address disappears after every wake_from_sleep now. And the options to "Reboot" the server disappear also. The only way to get the connection to work again, is to go into Windows Services, Stop the running Emby Service and then Re-start it again. At which time my local address shows up again in the settings and the connection to the server works again. As you can imagine this is far from ideal. This is the entire Log for WMC: C:\ProgramData\MediaBrowser-Classic\Logs 2019-05-21 15:58:59.9095,Info,,Using String Data from C:\ProgramData\MediaBrowser-Classic\Localization\strings-en.xml,1,Application 2019-05-21 15:58:59.9205,Debug,,=========System looking for assembly: System.Data.SQLite,, Version=1.0.88.0,, Culture=neutral,, PublicKeyToken=db937bc2d44ff139,1,Application 2019-05-21 15:58:59.9215,Info,,System.Data.SQLite,, Version=1.0.88.0,, Culture=neutral,, PublicKeyToken=db937bc2d44ff139 is being resolved to System.Data.SQLite,, Version=1.0.88.0,, Culture=neutral,, PublicKeyToken=db937bc2d44ff139,1,Application 2019-05-21 15:58:59.9235,Info,,==========Using new SQL Repo========,1,Application 2019-05-21 15:59:00.0445,Info,,Playstate initialization took 0.00 seconds.,1,Application 2019-05-21 15:59:00.0555,Info,,Total Kernel Init took 0.17 seconds.,1,Application 2019-05-21 15:59:00.0615,Info,,Successfully loaded fastload data for : C:\ProgramData\MediaBrowser-Classic\Cache\playstate MediaBrowser.Library.Entities.PlaybackStatus,14,Worker thread for FastLoadLoader 2019-05-21 15:59:00.0935,Info,,Finished validating : C:\ProgramData\MediaBrowser-Classic\Cache\playstate MediaBrowser.Library.Entities.PlaybackStatus,14,Worker thread for FastLoadLoader 2019-05-21 15:59:00.0935,Info,,Dictionary loading and validation took 0.05 seconds.,14,Worker thread for FastLoadLoader 2019-05-21 15:59:00.1045,Info,,Information DisplayText: Welcome to Emby for WMC,1,Application 2019-05-21 15:59:00.1215,Info,,Emby (version 3.0.314.0 ) Starting up.,1,Application 2019-05-21 15:59:00.1215,Info,,Startup parameters: ,1,Application 2019-05-21 15:59:00.1315,Debug,,Having to get media experience by reflection due to bug in Windows 7,1,Application 2019-05-21 15:59:00.1325,Debug,,GetMediaExperienceUsingReflection was unsuccessful,1,Application 2019-05-21 15:59:00.1335,Debug,,=========System looking for assembly: MediaBrowser.resources,, Version=3.0.314.0,, Culture=en-US,, PublicKeyToken=59fc04479785fd64,1,Application 2019-05-21 15:59:00.1335,Debug,,=========System looking for assembly: MediaBrowser.resources,, Version=3.0.314.0,, Culture=en-US,, PublicKeyToken=59fc04479785fd64,1,Application 2019-05-21 15:59:00.1405,Debug,,=========System looking for assembly: MediaBrowser.resources,, Version=3.0.314.0,, Culture=en-US,, PublicKeyToken=59fc04479785fd64,1,Application 2019-05-21 15:59:00.1405,Debug,,=========System looking for assembly: MediaBrowser.resources,, Version=3.0.314.0,, Culture=en-US,, PublicKeyToken=59fc04479785fd64,1,Application 2019-05-21 15:59:15.9019,Info,,Application Init took 15.85 seconds.,1,Application 2019-05-21 15:59:15.9029,Info,,Information DisplayText: Welcome to Emby for WMC,1,Application I've attached the Latest Emby Server log. Luke 36884
Hi, try not running emby server as a windows service. That is why there is no option to restart.
gordymc 0
Hi Luke, I need to run it as a service, as when the machine reboots (thanks to windows updates), I'm unable to login to emby (remotely) until I logon too the emby server machine. Not convenient when I'm away. Thanks. Why did Emby break "running as a service" with the latest server updates.
Luke 36884
Why did Emby break "running as a service" with the latest server updates. Hi, Emby did not break this, I am simply asking you to try it as a way of collecting information.
yobrevar 1
Hi, Emby did not break this, I am simply asking you to try it as a way of collecting information. Hi Luke, I have tested it as an app only (service disabled and machine rebooted). Unofrt the same error is still occuring after wake_from_sleep. What is the best way to re-install emby without losing all my meta-data for shows & movies & watched-show markers ? Ta. ebr 14862
I believe this is a long known issue with WMC sleeping. It loses its network connection and lots of other things go bad. Basically, you cannot sleep a machine with WMC running. Back in the day there were utilities people wrote to close WMC when the machine went to sleep. jachin99 82
Look at the MCE standby tool if need be.
yobrevar 1
Look at the MCE standby tool if need be. Yup been running MCE Standby for years, never with this issue which recently started. What is the best way to save your watched-show data so i can re-install the app again?
Solution yobrevar 1 Posted May 25, 2019 Solution Share Posted May 25, 2019 I believe this is a long known issue with WMC sleeping. It loses its network connection and lots of other things go bad. Basically, you cannot sleep a machine with WMC running. Back in the day there were utilities people wrote to close WMC when the machine went to sleep. Did a full un-install and re-install of Emby and its components while retaining all my data and cache files and it seems to have worked. WMC Emby is now working after resume-from-standby like it used to do.
