I was working on the back of my htpc and bumped something and since my remote won’t work. I can see on the ir receiver the signal light when I push a button on the remote and I have tried uninstalling the cec driver and the ehome receiver and also tried a different USB port for the ir receiver and uninstalled ET and reinstalled. PrincessClevage 173 Posted February 1, 2019 Author Share Posted February 1, 2019 Yes I have come to the conclusion that my old wmc hp IR receiver may be at fault as I have tested it on another pc and it fails. That's something that would only come into play if you wanted to use your TV remote control, and your TV remote supported hdmi-cec.Thanks Luke, ended up being the IR receiver gave out, I ended up buying a second hand Microsoft Mce IR receiver and remote (which I find easier to map and use than harmony etc) and working well again.
