Hello
I'm coming back after several days of testing. Actually the operation is much better, when you reduce the application you can play / pause and move the sound without problems.
Sometimes the application seems to disconnect (after 15/20 min) and it is no longer possible to interact with the application.
I detected another problem once it lost the connection, on the application Emby he stays connected and we still see the bar of the film at the bottom of the application.
It is then necessary to click on the icon cast, then to click on disconnect and to make "No" so that it disconnects well. If I click yes it sometimes happens that it closes my current movie or TV Show.
If you could look at these two points for the relationship with the chromecast is perfect.

Hi, thanks for the feedback.  You are correct that it's not prefect yet and there's still more we can do to improve it.

Is getting difficult to play movies using chromecast :/

 

I cant using the remote control, only connect and play one time.

The remote control feature for chromecast is delayed by about 30 seconds. Chromecast is still buggy with Emby and the time is not synced correctly so your not able to see the bar progressing as the movie goes on... currently we are on 1.8.0 can we fix this?

I have a friend who has a TV box provided by his ISP, which includes a chromecast in it. Often he can not start a series or a film because:

- The application has trouble connecting

- Either the film makes a fast forward alone (very rare)

- Either when he has emby open in background and he opens an application that uses audio (example: snapchat, message) the media stops

- Either the loading logo stays stuck and does not start the movie

 

I tried:

- To force transcoding by lowering the quality

- To completely restart his box TV and internet (can solve some problems)

- Do speedtest to see if the network was correct

- Watch the load of my server (which was weak during testing)

 

I have some of his problems on my chromecast locally but it's more minimal than him.

I personally have a real chromecast.

 

I tried to recover logs when this happened but it was quite complicated because we could not necessarily have the problem when I had a computer.

With the 1.8.1 version I feel it's better, but the remote control still with bugs and unfortunately is so difficult to watch.

 

This version is faster, the delay between the commands is decreased.

 

But I can't even show the bug with the remote control because is totally random, now is worst because it's stop working even when the app is running and opened.

 

Emby Server: 4.3.0.6

iOS: 1.8.1

The application is much better and faster but the support of the chromecast is always average.

 

Please @@Luke can you care about it, these problems have been going on for a very long time now..

I'm having this issue, and a google search brought me here. Basically every time I "minimize" the emby app on iOS, I have to reconnect to the chromecast when I return to emby in order to control it again, is this expected? Is this a different issue? I can create a new one if it's different. Thanks

Still the same issue. Constant disconnects when switching between apps. Pretty shocked that this has been an issue for over five years now. Maybe it's time to make it a priority to fix?

6 years is the standard waiting time for a general fix. Stay strong my friend 💪🏻

Stop wasting your time, this is the same back and forth with many issues. And you know that, hou keep people on a string. Stop wasting your and other peoples time and put time in fixing big bugs!!! Like that security fox, 6 years waiting?! For real?
