Not sure how to do that, but will look into it. I do like to see my 4K movies, but perhaps I can filter for them...

You can use a filter for 4K content in the Movie library :)

Hi developers

Still not enough people asking for this!??

Nobody understands why this is not implemented.

Thank you

This is something that we are asking for years now, but the answer is always the same. I think that simply they do not care with what customers ask for.

I would hope they care.

I do find this community at least more friendly than other communities I've been in. Like all things there's bound to be a priority list they have to stick to however, in my opinion, this should be at the top. After all, they already do this with TV Shows?

I've also left a post regarding "Emby Niggles" and would appreciate some feedback from the rest of the users, and maybe some additions to it, as I'm sure I've missed stuff!

I noticed a new version of emby has been released however this plugin isn't supported in this new version, unless someone can confirm otherwise?

Could I please ask the author of this plugin to update it? I think there are a lot of users that rely on it.

Otherwise, maybe emby could finally implement it by default?

Thanks in advance!

Was wondering if we could add a 4K format like the 3D format so when you go to pick the version you want to watch it will so the 4K like it shows the 3D on the nvidia shield and roku

Cool thanks will download it now

As above, pretty certain the current version of this plugin doesn't work with the latest version of emby.

If you want to use this plugin 4.4.2.0 is the last version you should be able to use it with.

So the updated version of the plugin will display the 4k when upgraded?

I was thinking if we can add the 4K format in the edit metadata like the 3D we wouldn't have to worry about the server version or will that be to hard to do?

I upgraded my Emby server version to latest (4.4.3.0) and the plugin still works fine for me.

Think someone had reported an error with it above ?

Did you check the logs and if so is the plugin still grouping movies?

Thanks in advance

Yup, I tested it and it grouped a movie correctly (4K & FHD). I don't see any errors in the log, example from when it grouped two versions of one movie post-upgrade to 4.4.3.0.

(As a bit of an aside, I am running Emby on Linux (Manjaro) in a Docker container so backup prior to upgrading and testing is very easy, as is rollback should something fail.)

I have no issues determining which movie is 4K so long as they are properly named in the first place.

@lorac i name my movies as follows

Movie name (year) [resolution]

Then with 3D or 4K

Movie name (year) [resolution] 3D or UHD

So what might I be doing wrong? In my opinion I really need to be named with the HDR

I generally don't rename the movies.

Here's an example:

Parasite (2019) B&W (1080p BluRay x265 HEVC 10bit AAC 5.1 Korean Silence)

Parasite (2019) (2160p BluRay x265 HEVC 10bit HDR AAC 7.1 Bandi)

When i go to look at a movie it shows me exactly what i need to know. These movies are in different directories.

My files are named like ...

Parasite (2019) - 720p
Parasite (2019) - 1080p
Parasite (2019) - 2160p
Parasite (2019) - 1080p B&W

... and it works fine. All in different folders.

Version 4.4.3.0

... that's how it is supposed to work - it should group all movie versions together to one - let the user select resolution via playbackoptions. You might use a filter to find the ones, that are e.g. 4K?

Hi ... can i ask, is this plugin just the same as grouping all movies together in the one emby folder. Desnt it then allow you to select which version of the movie you wist to play? i've added the plugin having the emby 'all in one' folder structure but not being able then to allow separate users access to either 4k or 1080p. I then separated each libary and it now looks the same as before via thuis plugin but i still have nothing showing in each standalone folder. Its all showing the top level 'all movies' folder so i've gained nothing it seems? Strange?

Yes, if all versions of a movie are under a folder, then emby will group them and it'll show a single movie view. However without this addon, if they are in different folder, say 1080p and 4k, then emby will show 2 movie posters.

With this plugin, it'll show 1 movie poster, then you can use granular folder permissions to give users access to both folders or just one depending on their device/connection capabilities.

Hope this makes sense?
