Adding a 'Repeat all' ability on the Roku app

Hi Everyone,

I am setting up several TCL 49" Roku TVs at my work. The goal is to have a loop of our commercials/videos playing as these TVs will be mounted in our break rooms.

I have set up the Emby server and added all our videos to a playlist, the performance is quite a bit better and faster than Plex (Thumbs up!). I noticed that last year you guys implemented a repeat once and repeat all to various clients, web, android etc. (Referencing this thread: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/48202-repeat-one-and-repeat-all/)

I have tried casting the playlist to the TV as I have the web set up to repeat all, however i'm worried that the setting gets lost after casting, as the Roku app doesn't have that feature.

~

Is this something that could be implemented? My work has no problem supporting your team with the Premiere subscription as we would be using this feature constantly.

Let me know,

Thank you,

Jason

Yeah, we have this in the audio player but not the video player in this app right now.  I was avoiding the extra button since most people don't want this during video playback but I guess we can think about how to work it in.

Thanks.

Thank you for the quick reply. Have a good weekend!

Just a quick bump to see if I should wait on a release that could contain this feature or if I should explore using a different client to play the emby server content rather than Roku.

Thank you

Hi.  We haven't had a chance to look at this yet.  It isn't something usually needed for video playback so just haven't gotten there yet.  We will but I cannot say exactly when.

Thanks.

Just a quick bump for visibility. The native Emby app has much better 4K performance compared to using a compute stick to push the video streams, looking to get the 'repeat all' added at some point :)

Thanks again

This one too. Internally just hit the issue tracker. Now this one, feel free to leave unanswered until its actually there and we get you a repeat all button and some way to do it. I am just letting you know internally, we see this now all the time. I am trying to wrap these threads into the tracker so we can prioritize how we tackle issues. This does take time to do this collection, and feedback from users and reply to them. It does take away from coding. But to me it is critical to let you be in on the loop, but I must remember and focus on where time is deserved to be spent. Not squander it on my own whims. I just added high visibility for you. :)

-We're hoping this feature will be added at my organization so we can loop playback .MP4 files to all of our Roku tv's.  The interface is beautiful but it just needs that extra .MP4 loop playback feature so we can loop playback on each Roku tv.  Right now we're having to use USB thumb sticks and loop playback via Roku's media player.

You can now use "Repeat All" in the Roku app and it will allow you to play things on repeat as long as you like. The repeat all will respect the option to runaway playback protection. So if you want really to repeat all forever you need to disable runaway playback protection then play something or several things. Once the Video Player starts will be a new button on the OSD that will pop-up an Advanced Playback Menu. Part of this menu is a toggle to control repeat all.

(the above is no longer true. the button will always appear no setting of anything required)

Please let us know what you think. Thanks. :)

NOTE: You must enable the "Extended Playback Info" setting to expose this new button on the OSD. This prevents children from being able to hammer buttons they should not be using.

Yay, Thanks Speechles!

I am currently trying to try it out on a TCL 49" 4K TV with little to no luck. I have enabled the extended playback info but when I am streaming content from a playlist (shuffled) I don't see any additional OSD settings.

Any ideas?

Thank you

Just as an update (had some delays with work) the system on the beta app is running flawlessly! Thank you for your work on that feature!

I appreciate it :)

I'll come in days later and videos are still playing, nice job
