I see that version 3.0.59 appeared in the Play store a couple days ago, but there is no indication from the community the audio sync issue has been addressed.

I'll stick with 3.0.45 for now.

Shied TV 1.7.21g

Emby server 4.2.0.25 beta

I’ve had audio sync issues for many months but I can easily fix it in 30 seconds and it happens I believe under two scenarios.

I connect to an HK Aura Bluetooth speaker and audio is in sync usually but not under the two scenarios:

1) If I try to resume a movie after putting shield into sleep cuz I switch over to the computer.

2) if I start the movie before the speaker is powered on. So I need to either physically turn it on or if too lazy use my iPhone to power it by connecting Bluetooth then playing music then disconnecting Bluetooth.

So anyway if the audio gets out of sync the solution is to disconnect the Bluetooth speaker in Shield TV and reconnect it and voila resume the movie and all is golden showers.

great that you found a (although inconvenient) workaround

but it's not a fix to have to mess around with your equipment, or play something different, just to get some other thing to work

some here have sync issues playing over internal speakers, not related to resuming or not, there is nothing we can do or dis/reconnect to fix

We are looking into this, thanks guys.

Please keep in mind this topic is for our Android mobile app. Please post any inquiries about our shield app in the Android TV section of the community. Thanks.

Just downloaded 3.0.62 - No change.

Have also posted it in other thread I started, as I find it really confusing that this thread is still marked as 'answered', when it obviously isn't.

I'm sorry @@Luke but this is taking way too long.

Playing your media with synced audio/video is basic stuff for an app like Emby and that should work everytime, and if it doesn't then it shouldn't even be released to beta.

You should define basic functions for the app that should always work and no matter what type of release (stable/beta) it is.

I don't mind using the beta versions - actually use the beta everywhere (Sever & ATV) - but I should always be able to watch my stuff without issues.

The way this is right now is pretty annoying and even after a couple of releases the sync issue still persists.

Yeah i don't have the sync issue anymore i just have another with the stream audio quality, it's just bad metallic quality for some reason. And no it's not the source's fault

Yeah i don't have the sync issue anymore (...)

Which sync issue exactly, the one via Bluetooth or via the phone's speakers?

BT is fine now for me as well but using the phone's speakers I can't watch anything as it drives me crazy hearing the audio before the lips move - that's why I usually watch stuff in their original language.

Yeah, that's not how betas work. How would he know stuff broke BEFORE releasing it to beta?

This isn't a Microsoft of a Google type of company, who can afford alpha and pre-aplha rings...

I get that but still, if an error is introduced with a specific beta then just roll it back until you have a solution for it and don't let your customers "suffer".

I mean, at some point this was alright and there has been much time down the road since this was reported.

Instead of keep adding features into the server (e.g. fancy new buttons) they should probably focus on bugfixing before adding even more stuff.

Guys, don't get this wrong I also appreciate (some of) the new features but there has to be some prioritizing been made and bugfixing stuff like (or the download feature - which is promoted as Premiere feature - to external storage) this has to be top of the list.

For me it's a joke when they spend they're very limited time into adding new buttons (yes they look nice but...) in the server beta but don't find time to fix this.

I suppose I am not the only having this thoughts.

Sorry, but just my 2 cents!

Interesting! My speakers are async but audio quality seems just fine.

Sigh...

3.0.63 - No change... I really can't understand why something so essential as a synced soundtrack is so hard.

I mean I know I am running a beta version - but surely get the basics right before trying new stuff?

Because of this I installed the stable version..

Much stable..

@@Luke

on 9 of july the stable version of emby for android is been updated to 3.0.59.

this caused the audio sync issue even in the stable version..

wtf?

It's not good to release a stable version with this known problem..

@@Luke, @@ebr,

latest stable server + latest Emby for Android beta and the game goes on... :-(

What's the server worth, if the clients don't work?!

What are you talking about? Use stable before complaining that the clients don't work... "Beta" means "beta"

as my previous post... this is not so obvious...

If stable is broken that's another thing completely, but betas, by definition, will be broken sometimes.

Have you read the topic?

This goes on since a lot of releases with some stables in between and the issue still isn't fixed!

To be fair the original Bluetooth issue is fixed (at least for me) but a new issue was created with it... Audio is now out of sync while using your phone's speakers.

Btw.. thanks for explaining "beta"... :-/

Yes, I have. It's a beta. Can't call something unreliable when it's in beta, that's exactly why it's there!
