Oculus Go Emby Issue

So, I don't know if this is the right place to put this here, but I have a dilemma. On my Oculus Go I can go to Gallery and my Emby server shows up under sources. It is awesome, I can click on it and watch a movie in a VR theater room which is awesome. I really like how everything works, but my problem is it automatically logs in and access ALL my content. I need to be able to log into a restricted user so that only certain content is available. Don't need the kids getting access to my other movies.

Is there a way to switch users?

From what I see, it is a dlna device. I don't see a way to log into a user. The only way I can see you choosing a specific user is to go into Emby admin dashboard and go to the dlna settings. You can choose a default user for it (at the bottom), but that will be for all dlna devices.

Yes that is correct.

That is what was going on. Do you think in the near future there will be an option to switch users for DLNA?

Thank you for the help! You all are awesome.

Does the oculus have a web browser component?

You could use app.emby.media if it does... And that would be amazing!

It definitely does, and it works well. Using the DLNA through the gallery really does feel like I am in a theater watching a movie. So far the best experience on an oculus watching movies off my server.

Another option is to sideload the Emby for Android apk, I've only just started messing around but can confirm it works though the scrolling isn't great. I hadn't bothered with any sideloading because my understanding was you could only launch the app from a connected PC but now that Oculus TV is released you can start sideloaded apps from within the Oculus. I installed the Emby apk and AppStarter apk - AppStarter is accessible via Other Sources in Oculus TV and you can start Ebmy from that launcher then.

Using app.emby.media on the Oculus Go works really well.

The only issue I observed is that the Full screen icon is missing.

This is a bit annoying as 3D options are only available in Fullscreen mode.

I think the browser used is a modified Chrome for android. At least that is what Emby says about the connected client.

Maybe there is some feature detection not working correctly that the icon is not shown.

Totally awesome idea. I sideloaded the android tv version and everything just works. Only issue is some of the text is too big/ doesn't scale right. But everything else just works.
