Hello,

1148 Albums total.

At this point it is hit/miss on if the albums load, but at least one of the sub directories Albums/Album Artists/Artists/Genres experience a spinning circle and do not load. While the circle is spinning I am unable to use the controller to move to other UI elements. The only solution when this happens is to hold down the xbox button on the controller and force quit the app.

No issues with the web, Windows store, or Samsung app using playlist

 

I did create a smaller playlist (785 mins long) which plays fine on the XBOX so it seems to be related to this playlist and the XBOX only now

 

Prior to v209 though I've never had an issue and I play music quite often from the XBOX too.

 

The only thing I may have done is maybe added a song or two to it.  I have the same issue when clicking Play All or Shuffle on the XBOX.  Main playlist is 12,707 minutes long (probably several thousand songs), but I thought shuffle only grabbed 100 random songs so not sure if the size of the playlist would have anything to do with it either.

 

 

I'll probably use WinSCP and take a look at the playlist on my NAS next.

 

Anyhow, my issue doesn't appear to be an overall problem with the XBOX and playlists, but rather something to do with my one playlist and the XBOX client

Thanks for the feedback. I'm not able to reproduce this but will watch out for it. I'm not doubting it though.

 

As far as your release notes question, yes there is a pinned topic where you can always find changelogs.

Not sure if this helps, but one commonality is that my library is also huge.  I don't have issues with playlists, but they are also pretty small.  For me, the issue occurs when I try to navigate through the music section of the app.  

 

Music -->  Albums (mine are sorted by Date Added).  Select an album (in this case MP3) and choose a song.  Spinning wheel. 

 

This only happens on the ET app for XBONE.  Everywhere else is fine (tested Android app, Windows Mobile app, Web App, Windows Store App for PC)

Oh, I can sort of duplicate this also, but I can't get that far.

 

Music...Albums and then infinite twirling circle. 

 

I've been sitting here for over 20 minutes now and nothing has come back and this used to work also.  As of today I have 4,730 albums.

 

No problems using the same UWP app though on a PC

I remember when this issue first came up, I experienced the same thing - it happened right away when I selected Albums.  It wouldn't even load the album covers.  I kept killing the app and each time I restarted it would get further, to the point I could select a song.

 

It's almost like the app is trying to build a cache but can't handle the load.  

 

Don't mean to self-diagnose, just want to describe the behaviour in hope that it helps.

No problem. I tend to search or play from latest music anyway so its not hampering my music playback :). I'll update this thread if come across any additional info.

I have tried everything but still can't go to "all movies" and pick a movie to play.  The only way I can watch something is if I search for it or it happens to be on the front page.  Choosing it from the mobile app to play works and so far hase been a workaround.  but my wife and my son both love to go to "all movies" and scroll until they find something to watch.  Lately I have had to tell them to go back to using ember :(.

 

I'm guessing this might be related to the issue people are having with music as well.  The same spinning circle forever when you pick something to play forcing to to shut down the app.

Just checking back to see if you have been able to reproduce this @@Luke? If this one thing is fixed I will finally be able to use emby theater exclusively and I have been really looking forward to that. :)

When scrolling through very large lists, yes. We are working on a virtualized scrolling solution that will resolve it. Thanks.

Thanks @@Luke for your reply.  All movies worked fine until just recently.  Any idea on ETA for the virtualized scrolling?  I do have a decent sized library if you consider 1,377 movies to be large.

Just throwing my hat into the ring here.... I've had the issues you're describing for quite some time now, I have a massive library and it is painful to scroll through. Looking forward to that virtualized scrolling.

 

@@Luke for those super nerds here, could you explain what virtualized scrolling is/does? Just curious

We would only be rendering what you see on screen vs trying to render all possible results.

Movies will play from the main screen but not the main movie library. Any fix for this coming soon?

You get the endless spinning circle.  It only happens for me from the all movies page.  Movies play fine from any other screen but the all movies page.  I can scroll forever and all of the posters show up fine.  I can go into the movie detail page but as soon as I hit play I get the endless spinning circle and I have no choice but to force close the app.

Oh ok glad to help!  You think we will see a quick fix for this?  Or should I switch back to stable release?

Please be advised we don't recommend switching back and forth between the two.

I didn't plan on it but I would do anything to get this working.  Emby theater is finally working on all cylinders for me except for this one issue lol
