It is the current beta release and once Roku approves it, it will be the current official release too.

Are there any videos of the roku app in action with Live TV anywhere? I know there are loads of screenshots, but you can never beat seeing something in use. Cheers mini

The latest version (1.17.2) has now been published to the Roku store. It should be hitting your Roku's the next time it connects to the Roku server.

If a movie is part of a collection, the collection is shown. If I click on the collection to go inside of it, the application crashes, and it takes me to the channels screen.

GC - you may be running into the issue I had when I first implemented this.  If you supply the collapse parameter on the query for the contents of an actual box set you are going to get thrown into an infinite loop because the server isn't paying attention to the fact that you are requesting the contents of a box set and returns the box set all over again.

 

I suggested the server should probably handle this to keep clients from having to manage it but it may not have been done.

I haven't implemented anything on it, so it must be some sort of server change. I don't see anything in my movie section on the web server so figured it had not been implemented yet.

@@Luke, does the server API now collapse movie queries by default?  Does it handle this potential infinite loop situation?

OK, but then this feature is currently broken as it doesn't do anything on my movies on the web server. And apparently it breaks the channel too unfortunately.

I don't think this particular issue is an infinite loop. It's handled by the server, assuming clients are using it as advised. Since he's not explicitly adding the param, he is.

Edit: Just thought I better add Grant is doing all the heavy lifting and doing an awesome job of it too.

 

If you are using the official Roku client please take a little time and add an honest star rating. If you think there is something that really needs doing drop a feature request in the fr thread. If something is NQR let us know by submitting a bug report.

Yes it should happen automatically (the features in the scr I posted above have not been released yet).

 

Everything prior to the above post you should see in your client now.

 

If not you can go to settings on the main screen and select system update and it will update the channel to the current release.

in my preferences I have 1.17.2 - is this the latest version??

 

The system update - seems only to do ROKU firmware not channels..

 

I am still unclear how to get the latest version - any help

That is the current version. The system update will do channels if there is an update to be had.

 

 

The current version doesn't include the filtering options The next version you see will.

Grant solved a longstanding bugbear of mine it should make the new official store version (in a couple of days).
