When I add a custom menu it doesn't have the option "Try to use Emby styled Artwork", and even if a change the thumbnail it always use Emby styled Artwork.

And it only affect custom menus that user adds.

I also noticed that for music there is no green bar indicating the progress/time of the song.

Is that how is supposed to be?

Is there any way, for Embuary info lists to "talk to" Embycon? I mean I am connected to a huge remote library and I would like to view Popular movies, Popular TV Shows list widgets on my home screen... but if I click on any tv show or movie it just provides info from TMDB... no Play option from Embycon... is this even possible?

Thanks in advance!

@@sualfred I have a question.... The next up widget on the embuary skin is showing my series in a different order than what on the emb y dashboard... Is this how it works?..... Let me explain a bit... On my dashboard i have for example gold rush, blacklist, All rise..... On the skin it will be blacklist... All rise, goldrush... Every other widget is in sync... It's just the next up..

Mostly because they have a different lastplayed value or they were added on the same date. Kodi has a slightly different dateadded handling. sometimes.

Now, only the default music library has the same problem, it doesn't have "Try to use Emby styled Artwork"

I have been testing Embuary with the Emby for Kodi plugin and NextPVR as the backend and things are now generally working well.

I have a few issues with the layout of some things and how best to get things done in the skin.

For instance if I watch a recorded TV show and then want to delete it I cant see a button to do so. I would expect to see one on the show info screen (see below) but it's not there.

I would need to go back to the TV Shows hub and click info on the show there which brings up a very similar info screen that has a '... more' button and on selecting that there is a delete button.

Could the delete button be made more obvious and consistent between show info screens?

When selecting 'search tv guide' you are first sent to the screen below where you need a further click to bring up the search screen.

Can this be avoided?

If you select 'Recordings' you are given a list of all your recordings but without any show thumbnails/artwork

is that normal?

Still loving the skin, a great improvement on Emby Theatre, just hoping to make the layout and usability a bit more wife acceptable!

-> Context menu -> Emby -> Delete item from server. Don't delete in Kodi, delete on the server

-> Kodi search window logic

-> Your backend is not providing Kodi compatible thumbnails

Kodi 18.5 was released and I'm getting an embruary helper error, after updating

No log, no issue

Strange. It's trying to create a directory even if it exists.

What happens if you delete "/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/script.embuary.helper/img"? Don't forget to restart Kodi.

I have not updated to 18.5 on my Shields yet, but I don't see this issue on Windows.

Edit:

Tested it quickly and upgraded my 2019er Shield to 18.5. No problems at all. Please close Kodi, delete this folder and start Kodi again.

Which context menu are you referring to? Is this in Kodi, if so which shortcut key to get to it?

What do you mean by 'Search window logic'?

I'm using NextPVR as the backend and I get show/episode images in other places just not in the 'Recordings' screen.

Context menu -> "c" on the keyboard on the item. Or long press "select" with a remote.

The window content is handled by Kodi, not by me.

The backend is not providing compatible thumbs for recordings. Kodi is filling those. You will get one with TV Headend 4.3 for examle, but not with 4.2.

I will test and report back when I get home.

Note: The problem happened to the shield TV that I did a fresh installation of Kodi 18.5, Emby for kodi and Embruary, the shield TV's that upgraded didn't experienced any problem.

Thank you for your help.

I've googled a bit and it seems that this is an race condition. Added a workaround to mute the error in case it's happening again.

Context menu -> "c" on the keyboard on the item. Or long press "select" with a remote.

Pressing 'c' whilst watching a recording brings up the playlist screen

post-525280-0-20086800-1574194685_thumb.jpg

If you highlight the listing and press 'c' you get a context menu (similar to the below screenshot) but no option to delete from here.

If you press stop the playback you will go back to the Episodes screen. If you press 'c' here you will get a context menu but no delete option:

post-525280-0-56526100-1574194954_thumb.jpg

If you try and press the menu key 'm' here you get a context menu with just a black bar and nothing in it.

If you press the info 'i' button you get the episode information screen. If you then move over and click the more button you get a context menu with a delete option:

post-525280-0-05709000-1574195204_thumb.jpg

My point is that it doesn't seem very intuitive to be able to delete an episode after watching it. Could there be a button added for it (perhaps between the play and browse) rather than hide it in the context menu in the episode info screen and perhaps add it to the context menu in the other screens?

The delete option is under "emby options".

A currently watching item has no context menu. That's not how Kodi works.

Again -> A skin has no control about the context menu entries and has no option to show a own delete button anywhere in a skin. A regular Kodi setup has this option under "manage" in the context menu and to trigger Emby to delete the item (which is the correct approach in a Emby<->Kodi setup) is under "emby options"

I dropped the complete Emby-only approach, It's now based on tags and generates images of items of the hub. If you have own images on the server -> download them and set them in Kodi manually.

Sorry I need to ask here again :-)

I just noticed that when using embycon, all hub images are being fetched from the Emby server automatically. This even works for the „all movies“ and „all TV shows“ hubs. So I‘m wondering why not doing the same when using E4K?
