I can send the movie that im playing to my Samsung tv (dont have tv emby app), i can then use the Samsung tv remote to control the movie im watching, i cant control the playback from my laptop browser or the smartphone app once i send it to the tv. The same happens when i send it to Theatre on my htpc, it plays on my htpc but i dont have any control over it from my browser or smartphone app. Is this normal behavior or should i be able to control the playback from my laptop browser or my smartphone app? Another issue is a program i was watching has embedded subtitles in the mkv file, it plays the subtitles automatically when i send the video to the tv, subtitles are switched off on my tv settings. Luke 37007 Posted May 28, 2017 Share Posted May 28, 2017 I'll test out remote control but if the TV is direct playing the file then we can't control whether it decides to enable subtitles or not. mystic.bertie 23 Posted May 28, 2017 Author Share Posted May 28, 2017 Thanks for testing that for me Luke. I tried again and got it to work fine. What i did this time was enable the remote control from the icon at the top of the screen first, then it allows me to control playback to Theatre or my Tv. Before i was enabling it from the playback screen, this only sends it to the device, it does not let you control it further. I know the subtitles feature is down to the tv, not much i can do if subtitles are set to off. The remote control is a great feature and im sure i will enjoy using it often. mystic.bertie 23 Posted June 26, 2017 Author Share Posted June 26, 2017 Im finding the remote control feature a bit of a hit and a miss, for a while there seemed to be a long delay between pressing the pause button on my phone app and the actual movie pausing or playing again, now if i press pause of my phone app the pause button remains a pause button and im unable to continue remote controlling the movie.
