I wait for more that one hour, and subtitle does not show at all ...

If subtitles are included to the movie is just not work....

Back then this use case works fine for me ... but now not ...

Is it possible you will work on this problem in feature releases?

Yes, we will add a setting to force them to burn in. There is nothing we can do to make it happen faster. We kill the process after several minutes so that's why waiting an hour doesn't matter.

So why back then this use case works fine for me ... but now not ...?

I try this on my FreeNAS server and on my home computer with Emby server for Windows ( better performance ), and I have the same issue on both ...

So bad server performance is not a case?

Maybe should be great have subtitle extract option in scheduled task section ...

It will vary from one video to the next, so that probably is the difference. Yes a scheduled task is a possibility for the future. Thanks.

@@Barlog9511, this setting is being added in server transcoding setup for the next release of Emby Server. This will allow you to force subtitles to be burned in.

Thanks.

Hi @@Luke

I was on holiday, so I won't be able to test it this new feature ...

And not going well :/

When I turn off Extraction on the fly, the movie takes even longer time to start and subtitle not work.

I tested this on several movies with the same result all the time

One example,

this movie ( Rick and Morty ) work fine with Extraction on the fly set to ON ( start fine with subtitles ), but when is setting set to OFF start takes more than 30 seconds ( transcoding work fine with 80 fps ) and caption don't work at all

I will test that video but i have a feeling it is working just fine, but your system might just be too slow to burn in the subtitles on the fly. Burning in subtitles on the fly can be painful for your server CPU.

Since your server is probably too slow for both options, i would suggest getting external srt subtitles.

For a better experience i would suggest obtaining external text subtitles. Our open subtitles downloading feature can help with that.

But this feature not obtaining forced subtitles ...

It will be better if EMBY has the option to extract subtitles from files ...

for example in the scheduled task

that solve problem with extracting subtitles and give an opportunity have a forced subtitles
