How to fast forward/rewind within .mp3 (audio book)?

This seems like it should be obvious but I can't seem to get it to work...

I've been happily using the Emby Roku app to watch videos from my Emby server for some time now and I've just started trying to use it to listen to audio books stored as MP3 files on the server.

Using the remote, the Roku app doesn't seem to let me fast forward through the playback when I resume playing a file I hadn't finished; it only seems to skip to the next file (ditto for fast rewind). Very frustrating...

Further, it would be really slick if the Emby server/app would "remember" where I was at when I stopped playing an audio book (MP3 file) and offered me the option to resume where I left off (a la video files).

Am I just overlooking something simple?

Thanks!

You need to be using the blue neon app. With this app when you are on a track list or on the now playing screen you just use the d-pad. Press left to rewind (5 sec per press) when a track is playing, press right to fast forward (5 sec per press). The standard roku app does not allow you to seek within tracks, as you found out.

Keep in mind, you cannot seek a transcoded audio stream. If you try the track will start over at the beginning. Luckily the app has direct play audio support for raw, mp4, mka, m4a, mp3, mp2, wma, asf, wav and flac. This covers about 95% of music. Vorbis/Ogg support possible soon.

The other issue you will have is you can't resume audio. The server isn't keeping track where you leave off in the audio track. This isn't a short-coming of the app. The server doesn't allow this ability yet unfortunately.

The blue neon app does let you search for audio tracks too. Also has a favorite track list on the music screen. So you have alot more functionality that you can take advantage of. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Thanks for the quick response @@speechles!

Sorry for not being more clear; I *am* using the blue neon theme and this feature doesn't work for me. I'll post further details under the Blue Neon topic. Thanks!
