Fixes that should be address for several pieces of Emby Software

you might be doing more work than necessary because we have automatic bitrate detection, meaning the apps will take full advantage of that bandwidth and direct play when possible.

No, because I need to make sure I have resources available for other streams and other server applications that are running off the same machine. Emby isn't the only important software on the computer. I need to keep Emby from putting heavy loads on the processor. Also I plan to running as many as 15 simultaneous streams at once and the cannot be done if the CPU is taxed by 1-2 streams already and again Emby isn't the only server software running. The number 1 goal is keep CPU usage minimal. I can control my my bitrate by pre-transcoding to the max allowed rate which is a FAR better way of handling it and it keeps my CPU from being taxed. its better to let the person that is streaming from my server to eat the processing load rather than my server. The server is only 1 processor but each user has their own processor which accumulates to far more processing power than I have. When I have 2 19 core Xeons on a single board and 128-256gigs of ram then I will consider on the fly transcoding but as of now its not a smart move.

Anything positive about emby?                     Keep in mind emby is built for the masses, and must do what the majority require..  I think one of those requirements is the ability to play anything on any device.   It sounds like you would like to play a particular video format on only a very limited type of devices, and not stream outside of your home to the internet.     You want a file server with the emby gui...  which is not what emby is designed to be. (These are just my opinions and do not represent emby).

Actually with a few minor adjustments and clean-ups and very little effort as all the abilities I need are already present, just need some fixes. Anyhow Emby can easily be both and actually Emby is designed to be both whether intentional or not. However, I did find bugs and issues that should be addressed I paid my 100 bucks so its perfectly fine for me to request and expect the fixes. The issues I explained are actually issues anyway and I never asked for any special feature at this time, just fixes. If I'm asking too much let me know I still can request a refund.

BTW I do stream outside my home on the internet I have large internet package but still rather small upload at 25mbps but I want to be a video and audio for friends and family so my need ares to keep CPU usage low so I can stream to as many people as possible at a single time. This is whhy I transcode my videos at a desired rate beforehand as that is my method of controlling bandwidth usage. I use the most compatible HTML5 video and audio formats which happen to be H.264 with AAC audio in the MP4 file container for video but that's chasnging as 4k is coming H.265 is the next and better streaming for video which use 25-50 percent less data and still can be used for 1080p. For audio the best streaming format in HTML5 is Opus as its compatible with nearly all HTML5 browsers and has far superior audio quality to the crap MP3 format which the refuse to use ever again. Opus is supported on Roku, browsers, and any mobile phone made in the past 2 years. Yes, Flac and wav are better but Opus provides less bandwidth usage while provide far superior audio over MP3. So I want to get to as many devices at once with minimal hit to me server is the goal which is why I can NEVER use transcoding and why the files are pre-transcoded at the desired bitrate beforehand. I know exactly what I'm doing and why I don't need convincing from anyone just need some bugs fixed. I already know what I want to do and why.

"If I'm asking too much let me know I still can request a refund."

Again I do not represent emby... I'm just a user...    The emby team does very well to accommodate requests...  I know I pay hundreds of dollars to Microsoft and they never fix my bugs.. The emby team is pretty good about working with people though.

Yes, I believe a lot of you are so I'll admit it. You forget I do tech support for a living a 60 percent of the people I talk to are just f*cking morons. My replies were mainly to the author or anyone that is directly part of the Emby team and if I could do direct chats with them and cut the rest of the community out I would. However, this is the only way to give feedback that I'm aware of. My goals are a bit different than some others and rather than embracing how I want to use the server all alot of you do is ask why. While the author may need to know the reason why it doesn't mean I always want the rest of the community to chime in. Although only 1 person gave me some useful info back on an issue I was having but unfortunately it was a 2 part issue so it was only minimal help.

So if I have offended them oh well I call it like it is even if it causes hurt feelings. I'm not trying to be anyone's friend except maybe the support staff and code writer of Emby but other than that I really don't about anyone other person's input. Again, I just trying to get an issue resolved and nothing more and really only want to hear from the Emby team and code writer directly.

It seems you are the uneducated dolt when it comes to Emby... because the very people you are attacking are part of the community that makes up the support staff.   There is not enough $ to pay smart people like you, to answer the phones, and help people through their problems.  It's these fine uneducated dolts you attack that support folks.

Tech Support oooh impressive, try Systems Engineer with over 20 years in the field, in my office you'd be my bitch lol, Be a dick that's fine just don't expect anyone here to help you then including the developers. I to call it like it is, and your very posts have shown how little you actually know and why you work in tech support as a level 1 phone bitch.  You don't even understand basic things like DLNA but then turn around and act like we're all the ones that don't know anything.  Good luck finding anyone to help you now here.

Actually its level 2 and I have a degree in networking., at least if your going to frank then also be accurate. BTW I have been using DLNA for 8-9 years now so I know more than you know or think I know.

Let's try to avoid getting personal guys. To the original poster, we're happy to help you resolve your issues. If you could please open separate topics for each, we'll be able to easily respond to them and address them individually. I think you already opened one earlier and we're happy to help in that thread as well. Thanks.

I've to say it's been an enjoyable 5 mins reading, but would have really been more satisfying with one of those.
