How do you work to build a specific client package? (like LG) do you want me to push you only file that need to be modify? So, when you will build the LG package, you just override the Master Web branch with the files from LG branch?

If you want to have a better conversation about that, please just msg me in my inbox. BTW, I'm currently at work!!

Thanks

we would just start by creating a package without worrying about whether what aspects of the app need to be changed for LG. Once the package shell is created, and the app is at least trying to load, then we can go from there.

I'd buy this LG APP  :D :D

ps: I don`t know if putting an imagine like this is against the rules. If it is, I`ll discard it at once.

Please consider that the app has to work with localization, so it won`t crash outside US...

Another user is developing a LG App, and its not working for users that tried outside US.

Tnx

Any news on a lg webos app?

Would go to by me a new tv and probably the use of my htpc would be useless with this app ;-)

We have the new Emby Theater running beautifully on LG. I can't offer an ETA, but if the TV has a web browser you can follow the progress by checking out tv.emby.media.

Thx Luke for answer!

Ok i take a look on this.

But would it not simpler to start an app than open web browser then connect to emby.media?

I must say i dont have any webos at this moment to look at it!

I think it would be great to stream movies and series direct from the folder without transcoding or something!

Is this the way it should work?!

Sounds good. I'll go back to check out with the my LG's.

Will it support both NetCast & WebOS?

I did some testing and the results so far weren't so good:

TV1 - LG WebOs v1

- Digital Certificate warning at the address bar.

- Works but posters were squeezed to the left instead of well-arranged in the screen. Texts also got hidden or gone to the back of images.

TV2 - LG WebOs v2

- Digital Certificate error (with red X) at the address bar

- Didnt work. Nothing appears when entered https://tv.emby.media at the address bar.

just keep it simple and do http for now. the browser address bar takes up space and reduces the layout to the next smallest size, e.g. 1080p -> 720p. that won't happen with the native app.

Thanks.

I'll be waiting for the native app w/ https . I'm a little paranoid about plain http

Hi art,

Will it be necessary a "Developer Mode" to use your software, or are you thinking in publishing it to LG STORE ?

No, but the application will not be taken in the store. Likely.

yes this is going to be an official emby app. if you would like to contribute, i can create the LG repo now and you can fork and start pushing updates.

can you create a fork and or have access so we can try to get this working on the 2014+ Panasonic viera tv's

My webOS V2 tv is the same, browser doesn't load the page.

Hi guys,

The web client currently works better now. It is surely not completed but I can play almost movies (not HEVC yet). I will talk with Luke to give you an IPK package to allow you to install it and test it on your TV. Will be back soon with a link.

Edit:

I dont know whats wrong but i cannot connect in any way to the emby server!

Today i got an update from webos.....

Only a lock with red cross is showing in adress bar!

Sadly i cant play files over the share hub they wont load.

Is there no mkv support from the lg?
