Trakt adding episode twice to watched list

Most of the time when I watch a TV episode on my Chromebox with the OpenELEC version of Kodi installed, it is marking the episode as watched twice. The two entries in the watchlist show different times. One seems to get marked with when I start the episode, while the other is when I finish.

I do not have the Trakt plugin installed in Kodi, so I know that's not causing the problem, so I'm wondering if it's an issue with the Emby plugin?

I am having the exact same problem as the OP - can anyone assist?

Not every show, but many shows trakt shows as being viewed twice, with the first listing being when you started, and the second listing when you finished the show.

I am not running the Kodi Trakt plugin either. I am running the latest Emby version and the latest Trakt plugin for Emby version.

Any help is appreciated.

I am not using the Kodi app, only the Server add-on and am having the same issue.

I have contacted Trakt about the problem thinking that it might have been on their end.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My description to Trakt about the problem:

All of my duplicates happen within 2-3 minutes of each other as if the system believes that I watched the show once then watched it again in only 2-3 minutes.
Here is what seems to be happening IMO.
The system gets an "Episode Completed" signal when I stop the show (usually once the credits start rolling).
It gets a second "Episode Completed" signal (I assume from the Trakt site) when the episode would have ended (according to the timer).
I usually go into the system at the end of the day to delete the repeats.
This does not fall into "Deleting Duplicates" categories in the forum as I watch some episodes/seasons multiple times and enjoy the "credit" of the reruns.
This seems to be an actual error generated by ...?
Perhaps there could be some check within the system that eliminates the duplicates automatically if sees the exact same show back-to-back within it playing time.
I'm sure that there may be some 5 minutes episodes (like this seasons Vixen) that could be watched again quickly but watching a regular 42 minute episode in 3 minutes would be impossible. So, if the system sees the same episode pop up 5-10 minutes later, delete one (I don't think it matters which - the credit stays the same).
FINAL NOTE: My wife says that it also happens when she pauses an episode for an extended time. In this instance, I believe that the first "Complete" comes from the Trakt site and the second comes from my Emby app.
Thank you for taking the time to read all of this. I tend to ramble.

And their retort:

It sounds like you are using the Emby media center and Trakt.tv plugin, right? This might be a bug with that plugin. The Trakt website itself doesn't mark anything complete, that is all handled by the plugin. It should mark as watched when you press the stop button (with 80% progress or higher) or when the item stops playing (emby would press stop for you). If you are getting duplicate plays, it sounds like Emby might be sending multiple stop events, or it might running a sync after you watch it. The sync is meant to sync up any watched statuses for things like you manually indicate you watched something in Emby.

Have you tried posting this in the Emby forum and attaching your log file so the plugin developer can take a look?

My server logs are too large to attach so I have enabled the Extra Logs within the Trakt add-on.

I will post it tomorrow night, if requested.

more than likely the app you're playing from is reporting playback twice to the server. please report this in the section of the forum for that particular app.
