andyandyandy114 0
I just installed media browser and following the tutorial, it tells me to do "service mediabrowser start" I get this after typing it. service mediabrowser startRemoving stale /var/run/mediabrowser.pidrm: remove write-protected regular file ‘/var/run/mediabrowser.pid’? yrm: cannot remove ‘/var/run/mediabrowser.pid’: Permission deniedstart-stop-daemon: unable to open pidfile '/var/run/mediabrowser.pid' for writing (Permission denied) How can I fix this? Thanks Edited February 28, 2015 by andyandyandy114
Solution thefirstofthe300 291 Posted February 28, 2015 Solution Share Posted February 28, 2015 (edited) Simply running the above command as root will do it. sudo service mediabrowser start What is happening is that your user doesn't have the permissions necessary to actually start MediaBrowser so you need to elevate your privileges.
