I really hope Yellowstone Season 5 first half is the build up for an explosive second half... I found it pretty uneventful and also soooo many cut scenes of roping cattle, fairs, singing and scenery.  But i think there is a good foundation now to get back to how the show was.

On the otherhand.....

MAYOR OF KINGSTON -   That show is fricken amazing... hooked on it.

Yellowstone was supposed to have a 5 season arc, so I hope they keep it that way - stick with the plan - and just end it at season 5 (like Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul did).

Season 5 was a bit of a weaker season - I enjoy slow just as much as action so I didn't think it made it a worse show.

Have to agree, I loved Wind River too, it great to see all the the same actors appearing in his creations.

I need to watch Tulsa King.  I watched the first episode when it was released to gauge it, and it looks promising so waited for the rest to air.  Now i can binge watch it.

It's not too bad, very watchable. I think it's the first time I've seen 'Stallone' in a TV series.

Haven't got to the end of S01 yet... Thanks for no spoilers :) I have read they renewed it for S02.

It's a really nice paced crime/drama and I think 'Stallone' did a nice job!

first time I've seen him cast as a Mafioso - which I found surprising once I thought about it.

Yeah your right, I guess he's always been type cast in the action/hero type roles but he's perfect for mafioso. Nice role to get as he gets older I guess. ;)

Anyone watching 'The Last of Us' ?

I thought it started out ok, the fungus was a nice concept and the acting was good. The script was ok to start with except for ep3. I know its trendy to script different sexual prefs but this whole episode was a waste of time..

Then came ep4 or maybe 5 I forget, a giant zombie (12 foot) pops out of a hole... lol ... I lost all interest after that!

I'd be interested to see TV shows that are the best of the best in peoples opinion. They'd have to be superb for every season, so many start great but then lose steam or get padded out. Obviously you can tell from IMDB and the like which are generally the most popular and best rated, but am still interested in what folks top series (ever) are.

Some I'd rate (in no particular order)

The Sopranos (TV Series 1999–2007) - IMDb (10/10)

Fargo (TV Series 2014–2023) - IMDb (9/10)

Luther (TV Series 2010–2019) - IMDb (10/10)

The Morning Show (TV Series 2019– ) - IMDb (9/10)

Big Little Lies (TV Series 2017–2019) - IMDb (9/10)

Legion (TV Series 2017–2019) - IMDb (10/10)

Breaking Bad (TV Series 2008–2013) - IMDb (10/10)

The ratings are my own :)

The Americans.

I, Claudius (1976). Pretty well known for great story / acting and cheap production.

Spaceboy

Line of Duty - 2012

The Expanse - 2015

i personally have a preference for short shows - max 2-3 seasons. its very rare to find a premise that doesnt get tired after that time. i've stopped watching so many shows because i just find the stories ridiculous or repetitive after that.

Agree with Luther though

I agree, they have to be pretty spectacular to go on for several seasons. I was hounded and I mean that, to watch GoT eventually caved in and didn't like it at all, then got hounded for reasons ! Annoyed the crap out of me, such a fanboy attitude with that show. What did you think of the Luther film ?

Yeah I agree to. I like shows that don't over do it season wise for the same reasons. The exception would be shows where something different happens every episode with a thin overlay of some story. I'm a sci-fi nerd so stuff like star trek (not discovery that was ridiculous) the new strange new worlds has the original feel to it. also shows like stargate and my fav sci-fi  show firefly (which didn't get enough seasons.. FOX...) 😡 The expanse was good (had to have the subs on for the belters) ;)

I just re-watched Justified, it has more of a story going on but it's good even for a second run.

Mayor of Kingstown is another god one, I could go on and on listing shows but I'll leave it at that.

@mikey63As for GoT, I get it. It took me three attempts to finish that show. I would always get board with it and watch something else. When I did finish it I was totally disappointed in the ending! They went one episode to far with it. I started watching House of the Dragon and that's the same, just can't seem to get into it..
