Up until recently i had played many bluray rips without a problem, this is on my main HTPC which the server is installed on too, it seems to play video files just fine but just has jerky playback with bluray folders, the movie plays fine using powerdvd13. As its a HTPC i dont change the configaration much or install/ uninstall things a lot so i cant think of anything that might be causing this. Any ideas chaps?

Is it possible to reinstall the MBT without losing your settings?

Is it possible to go back to a previous version of MBT?

hard to tell what's going on from the description but two possibilities:

1. You haven't used UNC paths for your libraries and something has caused MBT to think it's not on the same machine/network so it's transcoding. Make sure your libraries are \\servername\folder\

2. If it's small frame skipping jerkiness it's probably an issue with refresh rates of the content not matching the screen settings. I don't know your setup but check if you monitor can natively play 1080p24 and follow the instructions on here and the wider web on how to properly configure madvr to change refresh rates for you. If your monitor doesn't support that then try madvr smooth motion which can be turned on in MBT.

I just checked in my library settings at i have used the UNC paths. As for madvr smoth motion was already enabled. I tried enabling the setting 'set the refresh rate to same as video' this has worked, i only thought of this as you mentioned the refresh rate. I dont know what this is set as by default but as i already said i had been playing bluray rips for a long time without issue and all of a sudden the jerkyness started. Many thanks for your help mate.

No worries... MBT is an alpha after all. Stuff will just break sometimes. I found that setting in MBT didn't work well for me so I've set up refresh rate changing manually in madvr which does isolate me somewhat from MBT changes. If you're interested in that Google madvr setup guide and people much more capable than me have laid it all out.

Ok mate thanks for the heads up on that, if i run into any more playback issues i look up the madvr set up guide. Fingers crossed my smooth playback continues and for you too.
