User access restrictions causes MBC to fail

I have two users.  One is admin with password access.  The other is passwordless for general use but has access schedule restrictions as shown below.  The client was left open for some time as we watched other terrestrial TV.  I went back to it after the 20:00 restriction and MBC crashed.  I would expect the normal behaviour should be logout of that user once the restriction is reached.  I would also expect a timer so that if admin is left open a timer can be set to logout just in case.  Server log showing crash is attached.  I could not find an MBC log.

Server version is 3.0.5448.13879

MBC version is 3.0.240.0

Current theme in use for that user is Chocolate.

MBC log in original post.  As for the event log I think this is it but it is a full 42 seconds after the event in the server log.

Thanks.  Looking at the code I'm not sure how that happened.

You said you left MBC running while watching other TV.  How was this done?  Were you watching TV in WMC and green buttoned out of MBC so it was still running in the background?

Ok so my son was watching a film before bed.  The film was stopped and we left MBC open on the PC at that film.  We then switched to normal TV so moved from PC altogether to terrestrial TV.  I then switched back to the PC and it immediately failed once I started to manipulate it.

Yeah, looking at our code I don't see how we got a null ref.  The event log report actually says that Media Center itself crashed as opposed to us.

Happened again tonight. I get the access message within mbc and then media centre stops working and restarts.

  • 2 weeks later...

The null reference is happening in Media Center so I haven't found anything I can do to get around this yet (nor have I reproduced it).
