thefirstofthe300 291
I have the server working great on an Odroid-XU3 ARM device ... even transcoding works well ... worse case 50% CPU 1080p -> 1MB stream Would love to see a Home Theater client for Linux though .... and I can't get TvHeadend to work ... (Previously been a Plex user, but will shift if the TVHeadend client works ..) Well, if you count Kodi, we already have a home theater client. Emby Theater is eventually going to get native Linux support, but I am sure that will be a ways down the road unless we get a community member to step up and take on the development of the Linux build. ebike 13
Hi, Not really counting the Kodi plugin ... it has issues with streaming, specially with music, just doesn't work for me and tvheadend plugin for Emby does not work in Kodi. .. and yes, I know Kodi has it's own tvheadend client .... but I really want it available to all clients through one streaming service .... and Kodi is very buggy, especially on ARM .. .. so really looking forward to a Linux theater client ... I believe as it is HTML + electron, porting is easy, the only issue/work is with the video player, if MPV can be integrated that would be excellent. This discussion I have started here: http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/33277-linux-home-theater-client-please/&do=findComment&comment=317116 Cheers,
alucryd 216
Guys, do not upgrade mono to 4.4 or you will get lots of playback issues. You can add it to IgnorePkg in pacman.conf.

alucryd 216
has 4.4 become the default for all arch linux users? Yup, it's been the default since 2016-03-27.
Luke 37060
I wonder why. 4.4 is basically alpha. End users don't know that so they're completely unaware.
alucryd 216
I'm not sure what motivated this upgrade, the mono website still points to 4.2 and we usually stick to stable releases. On another note, I finally uploaded git packages for each github branch in the AUR: emby-server-git, emby-server-beta-git and emby-server-dev-git.
puithove 208
Yea, I ran into trouble with 4.4, after rolling back to 4.2 things are way better.
Stephen2 0
Thanks to the recent posters with the good citizen PSA about Mono versions. I've been having major troubles the last 2 days while on the road, using the webclient, and haven't been able to solve them... Now I am quietly confident that rolling back Mono will resolve them and happy times can resume! Thanks everyone.
sweetth 0
Hello, Could my issue with mono install (error with cert-sync => http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/35112-arm-archlinux-server-not-starting/ ) be related to 4.4 ?
naveedrasheed34 0
Hi, I am having permission issues. I have a default user called engr and one user that is created by emby-server. I have created a group and added emby and engr to that group. I have a shared folder with permissions as follows: drwxr-x--- 60 engr shared_media 4096 Nov 24 02:54 /home/engr/movies I have also tried: drwxrwxrwx 60 emby shared_media 4096 Nov 24 02:54 /home/engr/movies However, I am unable to add /home/engr/movies in the library. I receive the following error each time: "There was an error adding the media path. Please ensure the path is valid and the Emby Server process has access to that location." Here is my output of /etc/conf/emby-server MONO=/usr/bin/mono FFMPEG=/usr/bin/ffmpeg FFPROBE=/usr/bin/ffprobe PROGRAM_DATA=/var/lib/emby and output of /usr/bin/emby-server #!/bin/sh exec $MONO /usr/lib/emby-server/MediaBrowser.Server.Mono.exe -programdata $PROGRAM_DATA -ffmpeg $FFMPEG -ffprobe $FFPROBE Can anyone help ? Luke 37060
OK. We haven't really tested that type of procedure across distros. I would suggest checking out the backup and restore plugin in the plugin catalog.
ZAKhan 1
After sex everything becomes so much clearer. I copied it again and it works.
