Hi,

is it possible to import mp3-tag-fields to emby, e.g. website, overview for songs and/or albums?

These fields are used in emby right now (see attached screenshot).

Background:

I have lots of songs with website information and describtions in different tags (e.g. %comment%, %WWWAUDIOSOURCE%, %WWWPUBLISHER% and so on)

%year%, %title%, %album%, %albumartist% works fine of course, but which tags to I have to use for the other emby-fields?

Best, Stefan

Well for songs the issue is where would they be displayed? We don't currently do detail screens for individual songs.

website, overview, etc.

These fields should be filled from tag information in mp3 automatically, like %year%, %title%, %album%, %albumartist% which works fine

(B) albums metadata

Same same: Click on the three dots and "edit metadata" within album view.

Even now the YEAR-field is filled automatically, but I don't now which algorithem lies behind it.

As a coder I would only fill these album-metadata-fields, if the content is the same within each mp3 songs in this album.

So, e.g. if all %year% mp3-tags from album "TEST" contain "2018", "2018" is %year% for album metadata, too.

If there are different years, %year% in album metadata should be blank.

I guess but if the only place you ever see them is the metadata editor, is that really useful?

short an crisp: YES!

Because if have small informations with download-links, specials for me, e.g. comments/notes and so on embedded in the tags.

When I need to know them, I look there. No other places needed. And the best: you allready have those fields in your metadata.nfo. You just have to link these tags with your XML
