speedingcheetah 39
Recently tried to play some Music vids i have. Using my local home wifi network. The app tries to play the vid and does so, but it starts/stops every sec, stutters continuously, and the audio is also start/stop. They are mp4 or mkv files H264 with AAC audio. Direct Play. (when i switch Quality to a lower setting than the files bitrate, to force transcode, it plays fine.) The vids that have the issues are noted as "AVC1". (Though, strangely, a couple other vids I have that are labeled the same codec tag play fine) App version 2.9.92 All vids play fine with older app version 2.9.76. So i have to assume its yet another issue with your so much adored MPV player. Pixel XL and Nexus 5X. It did this before I updated the Emby server to the new 3.4.0 (just did that before posting here, no change) Edited May 4, 2018 by speedingcheetah
Luke 37022
We'll have an update to the app soon so let's re-evaluate then. Thanks.
speedingcheetah 39
I just noticed a very similar behavior when i play back via mobile browser. I use Opera Beta. The same vids plays for about 2-3 secs, pause, then start again....repetitively. So this issues does't seem to be just exclusive to the app. I can play the vids fine locally on my phone via MX Player Pro. Edit: maybe something to do with framerate, one vid is 24fps , the other is 59.94006fps...? Edit again: nope...seems other vids, at 30fps doing the same thing. Even 720p ones. Luke 37022
As far as browser playback goes, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. thanks.
speedingcheetah 39
As far as browser playback goes, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. thanks. Her is sever log of me using my phone web browser (Opera Beta ver 46.0.2246.126895) to play 2 files that are having the playback issues of severe stammering. I also then used the Emby app (ver. 2.9.92) to play the same 2 vids. The Android app does not make any logs for me to post. Also attached is the media info of those files that emby reports. Luke 37022
It looks like you're direct playing. I would suggest dropping the quality setting so that they'll transcode. Please see if that helps. Thanks.
speedingcheetah 39
Yes. Is direct play....as i said in my first post. When i lower quality, for transcode they play fine. They direct played fine before. Though its been a bit ( a month or so) since i have streamed these vids via Emby app or mobile web browser.
