Multiple Media Collections with same location

In MB2 I had multiple media collections pointing to the same media location because I wanted my Movie in two different Media Collection in MB, one sorted by date added and the other sorted by Movie Name.

MB3 will not allow me to do this...I assume by design.  I tried to search to see if anyone else mentioned this, but could not get a hit.

Is this correct?  If so, is there a way for me to have what I am after?  Kind of nice to just click into a view...rather than have to navigate up and change the sort order of a given view.

Thanks.

Our apps can do these kinds of things easily on the fly so we would rather keep the data on the server pure so that it can just worry about data, and leave the clients responsible for presentation. Assuming you're migrating to media browser classic, it has views like movies by genre that can be attached to the home screen. i don't think it has by date, but you could request that. or you could request the ability to design your own.

Yes, I have migrated to MBC now.  I love the new setup...but this take a little getting used to I guess.  I use the Movies by Genre on the home screen...but it would be nice to have other features as well.  The web interface is fantastic...if I could move that over to MBC I would be in heaven.

Designing my own would be really cool...if I only had the skill!   :)   I know enough VBA to muddle through...but the rest is not in my wheelhouse!

Thanks.

i ran into this issue as well.

i used to have several different movie collections

Movies (alphabetical)

Movies by Date Added

Movies by Release Date

That way I never had to modify the view settings under each one. In MB3 I havent gotten it setup like that yet.

I just had an idea, would it be possible to create seperate sets of shortcuts to the drives then add those unique shortcuts to the MB server so they are not duplicates?

I will try that after work.

Good thought!  But...sadly, that does not work.   :(
