that means it just needed to update the components. it would have happened on it's own had you just waited a bit longer.

you need to keep a note of the date you install emby theater, or in this case, the date you deleted that folder. when you update your video drivers, it may create an incompatibility with madvr, like it did this time.

It stopped working before I updated the drivers.

I tried switching back to stable from edge, restart Emby. Restart computer.

Switching back to edge.

Restart Emby.

Between was step I tried playing video.

First then I tried updating gfx drivers.

So something else then me updating gfx drivers broke play back, caus I shutdown a working system, but next time I booted it and started Emby, play back was broken. I did no change to system.

Deleting comobject folder got it working again.

How did madVR become incompatible with both the old and new drivers, and suddenly work with the new driver.

If madVR got updated after deleting comobject, that might explain it getting to work again, but it doesn't explain why did it stopped working.

Anyway it works now, but I do not like a system that stops working when I change nothing. Please make a notification when Emby updates something, better yet let me choose when to update!

I don't know, but something changed with the video drivers that required madvr to adjust and change as well, so now we've updated our embedded version. Yes a notification would be nice, but nobody is notifying us which in turn makes it hard to notify you. It is more likely that you guys will discover the issue before we do, because you will do a regular update on a component that madvr depends on, and something will have changed that will cause it to stop working.

I've had this issue since the release of the new theatre...deleting the com directory doesn't work. The issue, for me, seems to be with the use of separate video and sound connections. Video is from the nvidia 960 card and audio from the integrated video/sound (Intel). I get blank screen when using internal player as the player wants to send the video to the integrated graphics which I use for sound. I can manage to switch it back to the nvidia card if l can manipulate the settings in LAV video decoder and force playback on the nvidia as opposed to the default auto setting, but theatre won't hold the setting change. I'm not sure why the player is designed to prevent people from making changes required to get proper playback. If the setting isn't found in theatre you just can't change it.

How do you have your audio configured in ET? And the LAV settings aren't available to us. If you are talking about LAV that you have installed, that is separate to ET. ET has its own, embeded.

I realize ET has LAV embedded, however, I have configured ET to use Xysubfilter. When I initiate ET I get out of full screen mode to access the windows task bar, this allows me to see the Xysubfilter icon in the lower right corner. Right clicking the icon will list the LAV filters in use. I am then able to select the filter and open the setting dialog box. When I open the LAV Video settings using the method above I see that the video output is set to Auto, I am able to change it to the NVidia 960 and the image is restored to the internal player, however it won't hold the setting, so as soon as I close the setting dialog box it reverts back to auto and the player goes blank again.

Right, that's what I was referring to. Sorry, I should have been more clear. You can configure ET to show the LAV icon, but the settings aren't retained. This is by design.

The audio is configured to use the Realtek High definition audio through the integrated Intel HDMI connection, which is a direct connection to my AVR...I have a separate direct video connection to my projector off the Nvidia 960 HDMI. ET is not configured for bitstreaming, the audio renderer is WASAPI and the WASAPI audio device is the Realtek HDMI audio.

If you don't need anything greater than 5.1 you could try using optical and set your default WASAPI device. That might allow more configuration options in your windows settings.
