jscoys 143
Hi guys, Would like to buy a mini-pc for a friend to access remotly to my HTPC Emby server. I found this http://s.aliexpress.com/ZbEBFn2a Intel CPU Mini PC Windows 10 Core i3 Fanless PC Win 7/8/10 Max 2.6GHz Speed with HDMI Gigabit Lan 8G RAM 128G SSD If I select 4gigs of ram with Intel i3 5005u with Intel HD graphics 5500 Will i be able to run ET smoothly with madvr and smooth playback activated? Could people with same or related configuration give me their testimonies about performance on this king of configuration? Thx a lot! AdrianW 1052
I'm running an older Intel NUC with an i5 and HD5000 graphics - and ET is relatively smooth on it, although sometimes scrolling around is a little jerky. I'm using MadVR and *most* video is silky smooth, but I occasionally have issues with 29.970fps content. I've configured MadVR with conditional scaling algorithms based on resolution and frame rate. (See this very useful thread). Configuring MadVR to switch display modes based on content is the best way to get smooth playback.

jscoys 143
Just by curiosity : what kind of problem do you have with 29.979fps? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
AdrianW 1052
Just by curiosity : what kind of problem do you have with 29.979fps? It can become a bit jerky - and bringing up the MadVR stats screen shows that it's dropping frames. I've altered the conditional scaling to always just use bicubic for both chroma and image upscaling for all content over 25fps.
jscoys 143
Ok so it's kind of upscaling algorithm your material can't handle. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
