IRTrans problems

My remote is an IRTrans USB, MCE compliant. MBT doesnt seem to recognise any commands expect for navigation (up, down, left, right and OK). Nothing else seems to work, play, pause, skip, ff, back, numbers, letters.

The remote works perfectly in WMC and MBC but I'm hoping to move over to MBT and finally ditch WMC entirely.

Is there any way I can tell if MBT is receiving the signals but not understanding the command? I can't see anything in the logs.

MBT version 3.0.5182.20892

I have been having the exact same problem!

I am using a Harmony One through an OrigenAE 16V case, which has the Imon module, on windows 8.1.

In WMC all functions of the remote work fine, however in MBT i only get directional control and the OK button. but play, pause, rewind etc do not work. I have tried everything i can think of. If anyone has a solution for this - or indeed how to get the *&&*imon software to work properly in the first place i would really appreciate it.

I am nearly at a stage where i am thinking of ripping the IR card out and replacing it with something else as Imon has never been fit for purpose in my opinion.

any suggestions on replacement internal IR receivers would also be welcomed!

MBT is such a great product, i really want to iron out the kinks so i can make it my only player!

I've got the same problem, also with an Origen AE 16v case.

I'm however using the IRTrans version like the OP.

I can confirm that only navigation buttons work, and none of the others.

As IRTrans is a universal infrared control system, I'm surprised it's not affecting more users.

Ok, I've got it working... mostly.

It's a Key Mapping problem.

IRTrans is really quite a cool piece of software under the hood, but it seriously lacks in documentation.

IR codes are captured and mapped, and then redirected wherever you need them to go. Unfortunately I've not figured much out other than the basics.

The file: apps.cfg in the IRTrans remotes directory maps the inputs to commands:

I deleted everything in the file and just included the following:

----------- Start --------------

[APP]*
  [ACTIVE]
  [TYPE]KEY
  [REMOTE]mediacenter
  [COMMANDS]
    1        [KEY]1
    2        [KEY]2[KEY]a[KEY]b[KEY]c
    3        [KEY]3[KEY]d[KEY]e[KEY]f
    4        [KEY]4[KEY]g[KEY]h[KEY]i
    5        [KEY]5[KEY]j[KEY]k[KEY]l
    6        [KEY]6[KEY]m[KEY]n[KEY]o
    7        [KEY]7[KEY]p[KEY]q[KEY]r[KEY]s
    8        [KEY]8[KEY]t[KEY]u[KEY]v
    9        [KEY]9[KEY]w[KEY]x[KEY]y[KEY]z
    0        [KEY]0[KEY]\SPACE
    OK        [KEY]\ENTER
    LEFT    [KEY]\LEFT
    RIGHT    [KEY]\RIGHT
    DOWN    [KEY]\DOWN
    UP        [KEY]\UP
    BACK    [KEY]\BACKSPACE
    PLAY    [KEY]\CTRL\SHIFTP
    STOP    [KEY]\CTRL\SHIFTS
    INFO    [KEY]\CTRLD
    EHOME    [KEY]\HOME
    REC        [KEY]

    PAUSE   [KEY]\CTRLP
    NEXT    [KEY]\CTRL\SHIFTF
    PREV    [KEY]\CTRL\SHIFTB
    FWD        [KEY]
    REW        [KEY]
    MUTE    [KEY]\F8
    RECTV    [KEY]
    EPG        [KEY]
    LIVETV    [KEY]
    DVDMENU    [KEY]
    CLEAR    [KEY]\BACKSPACE
    TELETEXT    [KEY}
    ENTER    [KEY]\ENTER
    RED        [KEY]\ALT1
    GREEN    [KEY]\ALT\SHIFT1
    YELLOW    [KEY]\ALT\CTRL\SHIFT1
    BLUE    [KEY]\ALT\CTRL2
  [END-COMMANDS]
[END-APP]

----------- End --------------

It's not only got the ability to send keypresses like above, but also function and app calls, but I've not figured out how to use them correctly, as I don't know how Emby Theater handles it, nor what those might actually be... so I'm stuck with key presses.

I don't have key presses for: (MCE doesn't list them either)

FWD

BCK

...or any of the others that have nothing to the right of [KEY]
