danny8000 0
I have a Windows 10 Professional desktop computer in my home. Windows is not installed in a virtual machine, it is on "bare metal". Latest version of Emby server is installed on Windows running as a service. Virtual Box 5 (aka vbox) is installed so I can run guest operating systems such as Ubuntu. Local IP4 address is 192.168.55.55 Vbox created a virtual network adapter in windows at 192.168.56.1 Emby server admin dashboard starts emby is available at: Local access: http://192.168.56.1:8096 Local access should be at: http://192.168.55.55:8096 With Vbox installed the following Emby clients worked: - Apple TV - Windows 10 Emby Theater (different PC) Does not work: - Iphone 6 plus (latest emby client) - Emby fails to connect to the server - Roku - same error I un-installed vbox, restarted my computer. On the windows command line I ran IPCONFIG to check the network adapters. The Vbox 192.168.56.1 virtual adapter was gone. I opened http://localhost:8096/web/dashboard.html and now Local access displayed correctly: http://192.168.55.55:8096 I tried to connect with my iphone and it worked like a charm. I hope this is helpful to others out there. Edited September 5, 2016 by danny8000
Happy2Play 8242
Did you try to bind your vbox ip? Advanced-Hosting Bind to local network address:Optional. Override the local IP address to bind the http server to. If left empty, the server will bind to all availabile addresses. Changing this value requires restarting Emby Server.
