Feature requests for UWP app

I finally got the anniversary update on my work machine and was able to update Emby to the newest app. In playing with it on my work machine I have noticed a few things that I was wondering if they would be implemented.

 

1. Ability to see more items that an actor has been in within your library. I really like how the website handles this where clicking on someone in Cast & Crew brings up a bio page and lets you see what else you have that they were in. It would be great to see this working in your app.

2. Transcoding status. I like how in the W8 version you showed if something was direct play or was being transcoded. Can you bring that back?

3. Resume on home screen. It would be great if the Home screen in the app would let you resume your most recent movie or tv episode. Whether it shows the last 2 or 3 in progress items or even just the most recent. It would save a few clicks.

4. Items missing backdrops or thumbs have black space. The recent adds shown at the top of the home screen look great. Except for items that have no backdrop/thumb (not sure which is actually shown here). They just have a giant black space. Could you at least show the cover? Or something so it doesn't look quite so bad?

5. Slideshow with Photos. Right now there is no way to do more with photos than to view thumbnails or to open one and then manually move between them. It would be great if you could select a folder and start a slideshow. Also select multiple photos/folders and start a slideshow. Not sure if this is an app limitation or server limitation though.

 

As I have said before, I am loving the app so far. I look forward to seeing where you take it in the future.

6. When controlling another device (my LG WebOS tv) there is no way to later resume the video that was being watched. I turned on a movie the other day for my son and he didn't get to finish it. When I put it back on a couple of days later I had to jump around to figure out where we left off.

7. Turn off subtitles when controlling another device. Again with my LG tv. Anytime I use the Emby app on my phone (I assume the same would happen from my Surface) there is no way to turn off the subtitles. I'm ok with that, but everyone else in my family wants them off. I tried changing the settings in the app to only display forced subtitles and they were still there. Am I doing it wrong? Or is it the app? Or is it Emby server using it's settings for my profile?

An update. Build .111 (just released today) handles items 1 and 2. Thanks @@7illusions!

 

Also I figured out on my tv that the built in player lets me turn off sub-titles. It's hidden though.

What about item 5 (i.e. Slideshow with Photos while playing music)? Any update on this request?

I've done some attempts on this, but I haven't been able to retrieve photos recursively from the server. I will have to debug the server in order to see what's going on with my queries, which I haven't had time to do.
