Emby plays 1 track then stops working???

I have emby media player on a Android tablet and a 5 bar wifi connection to my router. Just lately it is not playing more than 1 track before it crashes The said tablet has 2Gb of memory, and connects to the emby server within seconds.

Yet another android tablet I have and am using for emby only has 1Gb memory and with a 5 bar wifi connection, it takes longer for emby to connect to the server, but plays more than 1 track before it stops playing. It just played 2 track and I had to restart the playback, emby did not crash on this tablet.

Just out of interest, is the playing of 1 track because I have emby on another tablet. When I first set emby up on the faster tablet I had to send an email to emby support, but don't know if it did anything afterwards.

Hi, welcome. Are both devices running the latest version of the app? I would check that they're both on 2.7.54. Thanks!

I don't know what versions the app is as it is one from the google playstore, and why would it make a difference if it was working ok before, about 2 weeks ago, and now doesn't.

It's much easier to help you if we know what version you're running. You can check under system settings -> apps. If you're not running the latest version, please update. If the issue persists, please provide an app log:

I did some testing today with the latest version and songs advanced normally from one track to the next. Thanks!

Thanks, I have just checked both tablets and they are running emby version 2.7.54.

As for a log , is it the last log file in that I should upload or the one for the date in question. I am just viewiing the log file in ES Note Editor.

The attached file is for the date in question, but there is also another log file for later in the evening, but it is a bigger file. If I should upload that as well, please say.

the last one that was modified while you saw this particular issue. If you're not sure which one, then what I would do is recreate the problem again, then provide the log from that time frame. Thanks.

The log file I attached was from the said date the problem was occuring, and as I edited it to make it more readable did show some problems.

There are other log files for the same day and earlier which I could upload.

Update, I tried the emby app on the faster tablet earlier and it seemed to behave as it should, and even played tracks when it wasn't open. Amazing

what is the android version?

The Android version on the faster tablet is 5.1, while the version on the slower Samsung tablet is 5.1.1

The android version on the faster tablet with 2gb ram is 5.1, and the version on the slower samsung tablet with 1gb ram is 5.1.1

I have edited a log file to make it more readable, from yesterday , where emby played maybe 1 or 2 tracks then stopped , then played ok for a short wile then stopped again.

I hope you can make more sense of it than I can apart from the obvious entries where it says 'stop'.

Edit, I just opened emby on both tablets this morning and neither could connect to the emby server on my NAS box. The said tablets are no more than 1 meter away from both wireless router and wireless extender.

Nothing yet?

Well I have found one thing this last few days, each day is different with the emby app! One day it works and plays media as it should do for hours on end, and even outside on one occasion, but other times it cannot connect to my NAS server when only 1 meter away from it. Puzzled I will be!

I have not been able to reproduce it. I am testing audio nearly everyday as part of other changes, but I am keeping an eye out for the issue.

Does the log file not tell you anything then.

Edit:

I have set emby to play a number of tracks ,12, and it started ok, played 5 of those tracks then stopped. After a few minutes I went to investigate and pressed the play arrow button again, but this time it could not connect to the server.

When it plays for hours on end 1 day, its a right good app, but when it will only play a few tracks then stops for whatever reason, it is not. It is so frutrating trying to get emby to play music, then complains it can't find the server.

I have resorted to using another android app and it just works, but I'll give it time.

Just to re-iterate, I have a 5bar wifi connection to most places in my house with the use of an extender and wifi plugs, so there should be no reason connection wise as to why emby fails. Also I can get on the internet with the same tablet and browse webpages.

To me it all points to emby.

I'm unable to reproduce it, sorry. Are you running the latest version of the app? What you can also try is installing the android system webview app from the play store.
