Auto Update settings

Hello devs,

Maybe a bug...

Using version 3.0.6060.0 and all the previous one from 3.0.5985...,

I update manually using the 'emby.windos.zip. file from https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby/releases.

After an update, the auto-update settings is always reset to ON (checked) despite the fact is was previously uncehcked by me.

I could live with unchecking it every time, but here a weird problem that is hard to understand or reproduce...

1) I copy the new files and start the new version of Emby

2) Then, I go in the settings, and uncheck the auto-update settings, then I DO SAVE

3) I reload the page to make sure the unchecked setting is OK (and it is)

4) (here is the strange part) During that time Emby is upgrading, cleaning or whatever it does on the database...

Then when done, the settings is checked again...

5) Finally, I unchecked it and save it after all that processing, it will stay unchecked...

So, the setting is reset ater the update and also (maybe) after the internal upgrade by the app itself...

Can we avoid that, please?

Thanks,

Jocelyn

I don't have a log for this, as I think it won't show up in there anyway...

No, it's not reset by those processes, but it is reset by the update now button. we'll look at resolving that in a future release. thanks.

Luke,

I just updated to 3.0.6300 manually...

1) deleted System.old folder

2) renamed System to System.old

3) unzipped emby.windows.zip

4) run the application

And the auto-update checkbox is now checked... but it was not right after install... After some time (a few minutes, not sure, or maybe I restarted the app a second time), the checkbox was reset.

Thanks

It seems to me that the past ~3 updates recheck the check box. I kinda was afraid that there where preparation on the way to pull an 'Emby Theater', make some feature 'Premier only' without any prior notification.

Is there a Emby Server road map that might answer the question where Emby in general is going to?

Luke, I hear you!

But, I'm telling you I didn't use the "Update Now" button... I am sure of that.

Anyway, it's not a show stopper, just an small annoyance.
