With live tv on android tv(npvr) it always defaults to 4:3 aspect ratio is there a way to set it up to always use widescreen? I always have to select stretch horizontally to get the correct aspect ratio.

Everyone using NextPVR?

I don't have this issue using our Live TV.

Is the content actually 16x9?

I assume it is transcoding...

NextPVR here. Only seems to happen on SD channels, HD channels display correctly or, more often than not, do not display because of a 'player error'. Oddly SD recordings display correctly as you have seen from the American Dad (green line) sample I gave you.

Yes npvr. Maybe the plugin needs to have a "default aspect ratio" setting. Yes content is always 16:9 have not seen 4:3 stuff for ages. Usually and old stuf like music video clips on live tv now have padding added to sides of video to fill screen.

NextPVR just passes the live stream to Emby, and it's up to Emby to decide what it does with it, and to find any information it needs in the stream. It sounds like like Emby is incorrectly determining the aspect ratio of the stream.

Yea it is probably an issue with our scaling parameters that are being sent to ffmpeg.
