Seems like its not showing any movies to resume on the main screen for my movies. For the kids movies they are showing up under continue watching. I have verified that everything is working properly on the web view. The screen blanks for a second when going back into main screen. I can send in a log from the app. Im getting the same result from 2 separate ATV devices.

I'm no longer in the beta program for the ATV side. I'm using the latest stable release. It was working fine until a couple of updates ago. I had a thread about this a couple months ago.

I can reproduce this with the latest server as well. The app hasn't changed so I'm not sure yet what the problem is.

Can I get some help on this resume issue again. I don't know if further update have broken the resume but I am having more issues that emby isn't resuming my shows and movies. I can have a day or so where it'll resume properly and then it wont resume. I have 2 different shield tv's and both are having this issue. Is it a server. I can send logs on either shields or server if needed.

Please help. This is getting very discouraging.

I am not aware of any issues here so if you can provide details on a specific instance that would be good.

Also, do confirm with the web app. Thanks.

I actually had this issue last night for the first time in a long time.  It was a sample size of one, so I will monitor it and post again if it continues.

Before you go to that trouble, check the web client at the same time.

Okay so it happened tonight for me. Watching Star Trek Beyond and wouldnt resume in ATV. Sent log from ATV as well. Looked in web client and resume wasn't there either. It resumed fine when trying to play from web client but the resume point wasnt there when trying after watching from ATV.

Can you please explain exactly what "wouldn't resume" means?

You tried to resume and it failed?

Then you said the resume point wasn't there in the web client but resuming worked fine...?

Please describe exactly the steps you took and what happened.  Thanks.

What I am referring to "wouldn't resume" say for example I was watching star trek beyond, I back out of the movie playing back to the info page (lack of better description) for star trek and under the movie poster a green bar shows how much was played and also another play icon has appeared showing where the movie will start if I would "resume" my playing of the movie. I back out further to either the "selection" area that shows my folders, TV Guide, and recordings and other movies or shows which I can "resume" playing and star trek is no where on that page. I go back into the star trek beyond "page" again and my "resume" point isn't listed and have to start movie from beginning. I have tried multiple times and still happening.

I tried the Web client that @@ebr had suggested in the past and if I try and go into star trek beyond after all the above has happened in ATV the "resume" point is not shown. If is start the movie in the Web client and back out and go to main page my "resume" point shows up

It seams like it's a ATV issue because I have 2 different shield tvs on same network and both are doing this.

Sounds like something is clearing your resume point after we save it.

Do you have the nfo watched syncing enabled?

wheres that at?

Perhaps some other program is altering your nfo's and not preserving the watch data. So then Emby reads the changes and resets the watch data. That is the most likely explanation and not related to which app you're using.

I have enabled this setting. I'll check back and let you know.

Thanx

You enabled it or disabled it?

Enabling it is what can cause the issue to which Luke was referring.

It was disabled and I enabled it. I'll disable again.

Does emby store the resume state within the nfo:

Do you think its something in my server causing this?

Emby is the only program running on the server. I had formatted my server and reinstalled emby. I was having this same issue before formatting. Nothing really is running on the ATV except for emby as well.

Under Metadata -> Services -> Metadata Readers:  Should I have nfo or emby xml first?
