Would it be possible for Emby Theater to harness the power of Gamebrowser and Metadata but have the option to play a video rather than a ROM? It would be nice if Emby Theater defaulted to play a media file but optionally play ROMS through External Players. I placed Dummy Rom Files to fetch metadata in each game folder along with video files. Right now I'm having to create a Games Collection to work with Gamebrowser but then I have to delete that and create a Home Video Collection and rename game.xml to movie.xml. The biggest issue doing this is having no game system art and metadata and backdrops show as media files. I was able to do this in MBC. Please advise... DELORAN 0 Posted July 28, 2016 Author Share Posted July 28, 2016 (edited) Because as Home Videos, Game System folders appears as a folder only with no gamesystem.xml data and Backdrops appear as media files to play rather than being an actual backdrop. Also as Home Videos they don't fetch GamesDB.... I want the Gamebrowser Features to fetch TheGamesDB but to play a video so that when you select "PLAY" it will play a video not expect an external Emulator. Game Videos with Gamebrowser and option to play with "PLAY" would be nice. I have over 2000 Longplays that benefit from Game Metadata... I'll try Trailers, but let me know if something changes. This way we have the best of both worlds, an option to play video or play game. REQUEST...Now, would it be possible to have a resume playback where left off with these trailers? Some videos are up to several hours long! It doesn't have to be on the continue watching screen, just have the server track playback for resume for trailers as well.
