Deleting Temporary Transcode Files

Hi all,

I am running emby server on a windows 10 machine that uses a small size (120gb) SSD for the operating system and several other hard drive in a raid setup for storing all of my media.

I was deleting some files on my machine when I noticed that the disk usage on the SSD was up to 65%. This is a near clean install of windows and emby so the disk usage shouldn't have been that high.

After further digging, I found the culprit to be 2 very large temporary transcode files in the emby "/transcoding-temp" folder. Both of the files amount to 43.8GB!!!!

My question is, Would it be OK to delete both of the files? Also, would there be any impact on performance if I set the default path for the temporary transcoding files to the raid hard drive or should I just leave the location set to default?

Thanks.
