DS213 - successful install, but no upgrades or plugins possible

So, first of all, the tutorial on how to install is spot on, and I managed to install Emby on my DS213. Thanks for all the great work providing us with a Synology package

 

After installing I managed to add a new library, Emby discovered all the files, simple and faster than Plex.

 

But, as soon as I try installing a plugin (Trakt) and restarting the server, it fails to start back up. So in the dashboard I pressed "Shut down". The package was shown as stopped, and I clicked the actions -> start. It shows as "Starting..." and soon after, "Stopped" in Package manager.

 

I've then reinstalled the package from http://cytec.us/syno/test-spk/emby/ and went through the process of setting it up again.

 

This time I waited for all the processes to finish and installed an update:

(3. Make sure the Emby service is stopped

4. Copy the contents of the zip file into /volume1/@appstore/emby/share/emby).

In the dashboard I pressed "Shut down". The package was shown as stopped, I uploaded the new versions, and I clicked the actions -> start. It shows as "Starting..." and soon after, "Stopped" in Package manager.

 

Is it a possible bug or a problem on my end?

I have had the same issue with some updates on a DS415+, found that restarting the diskstation and then starting EMBY if still stopped resolved it.

We have a new installation procedure for Synology users. It's very easy and is now on our website:

All Synology users are recommended to use this going forward (if your model supports it).
