I'm trying to open version 2.7.21 on Andoid 4.0.4 ARM.

The screen goes black and after a few seconds i'm back on Android home screen. No error is shown, nothing!

This is all that is written to the log:

23:25:14.182 [main] INFO App - Enabling Crosswalk due to older android version
23:25:14.203 [main] DEBUG App - AndroidSyncFileRepository started. syncPath: /mnt/sdcard/Android/data/com.mb.android/files/sync
23:25:14.222 [main] INFO App - Enabling Crosswalk due to older android version
23:25:15.316 [main] DEBUG App - Calling MediaSyncAdapter.updateSyncPreferences. syncPath: null

Yea we're using some features that would require 4.2, which means we have to decide whether to rework the app for 4.0, or just require 4.2.

Okay. It would be really nice if you can provide a link to the last version working for Android 4.0

My device doesn't get system updates anymore and buying a new device just to get Emby working isn't an option...

Unfortunately that's going to go pretty far back. It became an issue many months ago and we just haven't gotten around to looking at it yet, so i don't have an apk. You might find one on one of those apk archive sites, either that or just use chrome.

Wow, month ago? Didn't expected that.

But than you should fine tune the app requirements, so it dosn't show up in playstore for Android < 4.2.

It makes a bad reputation for Emby if someone is able to install the app from playstore but it will not work.

I'm not sure if the problem you are having is the same as mine, but it sounds like very similar results.  Take a look at my posting in Android under the "Testing Area".

Strange behavior speading to other devices

If I can assist you by providing an APK for 2.4.30 let me know.  It seems to be the most recent version that is working for me.  It took quite some time uninstalling and installing prior versions to find one that was working.

The issues are completely different. Your device is compatible, just being affected by a problem in a library that we're using.

Sorry I jumped in.  A little knowledge (on my part) makes me a very dangerous person.  But, hopefully I'm learning.

Try the open beta:

2.7.25 just went up and should be generally available within a couple hours. See if that makes a difference. thanks.

Yeah, it's starting again here! Unfortunately i get a lot of crashes when trying to play something...

If you'd like to fix it, let me know and i will provide some logs.
