Majority of TV Shows not showing seasons or episodes

The vast majority of my 91 shows do not show any seasons or episodes in either Emby Theater or the web client.  If I go to the metadata manager and expand any of the problem shows, it will sit there saying loading for quite some time (I've seen as long as a half an hour) and then eventually the seasons will appear in the metadata manager and subsequently in the Emby apps.  Problem is that if you go out and come back later it will do it all over again.  Any ideas how to fix it?

Additionally, the whole things seems slow.  If I click on a series and view it's info it takes up to 10-12 seconds for the fanart to change to the current show and all the character art to appear.

I am running Emby in a Docker container from the Emby repository if that matters.  Here is my log:

Have you ran the clean database task? Then after immediately scan your library. The problem should resolve itself if this is a .db issue.

Yes I have. What's more is that I also use Emby for Kodi to sync Kodi with my Emby db and all the shows show all the seasons and episodes just fine in Kodi.

Kodi uses its own mysql. emby sqlite is synced to the kodi mysql db.The problem may not be noticeable there. I notice you have a roku. Is it the same on your roku as the web client?

That is used by some family members to stream from my server. They say it's fine for them. But I don't actually have to try it myself.

The best way to fix it would be, tell emby to remove your libraries with the problem series. Go to library tab on the dashboard, find the problem libraries, and using the 3-dot menu choose to remove them. Now run the clean DB task, then after scan your library. This is all done with the problem series missing. Now add the libraries back with the problem series. Emby should automatically scan and import them.

This may take awhile, but this is the best way to fix both the missing season issue, and fix the speed problems. Rebuilding the suspect libraries and a clean refresh. Some of the updates modify the database, and these can cause those problems.

Won't that wipe out the watched status for all users on that library?

No, not if.. you do not touch the filenames/paths of things. When adding back, keep it all the same. They should be imported using their already existing nfo/xml. The library is seperate from the user database. After emby imports all the new stuff, it should sync user watched to them once again. Ive done this previously, and it remembered all for me.

Ok. I'll try that later or tomorrow. Thanks.

To make sure, in the /data folder of emby exists files with user* in front, back all of these up to be sure the clean DB task doesnt prune entries from these. I am pretty sure it doesnt, but just to be on the safe side, ya know, back em up. The cleanDB task should just affect the library.db but you never know.

Hi,

I have Anime series with 739 episodes (One Piece) ...

  • When I go to "SHOWS" tab --> One Piece, it does not give me the Seasons .. the Seasons section is empty. - please see the attached screenshot 01, 02, 03 and 04
  • and if I go "EPISODES" tab it will it shows an infinite loader indicator (just keep loading). -  please see the attached screenshot 05.

before the last update, it was working and give me the all 17 seasons, also the episodes all are shown under "EPISODES" tab.

I have tried to remove the anime library and add it again but nothing change.

ubuntu server 12.04
emby server ver 3.0.5986.0

Thanks

Have you seen this change?  That is a Unset/mixed Library type, correct?

it is a TV Library type.

it was showing me the seasons before the last update or before before the last one.

this issue not only on web client, I found that it is on all apps (web, ios, kodi ...), so it is emby server issue

I have emby beta server installed on another server, The issue on the stable version of the server

thanks

That did not work.  The same shows still show no seasons or episodes.  I even went a step further and created a Docker container with a brand new Emby Server install and scanned in just the the TV shows.  I didn't copy over any user* files or anything and it is also having the same issue.  What now?

What is your library type set to and what is your folder structure?

Content type is TV. My folder structure is:

/mnt/TV Shows/Seinfeld/Seinfeld - s01e04 - The Soup Nazi - BluRay Rip.mkv

No season folders.

Hmm, this should be resolved and heavily discussed here.  At least confirmed fixed on Windows.

You have completed a Clean Database task correct?

I did run a Clean Database on my stable version. But I didn't on the 3.1.66.0 install. I didn't think I would need to on that since its was a fresh library. Am I wrong on that? I perused that thread you linked to and it seems to say that it was working on 3.1.60.0 so I should be good on 3.1.66.0, right?

On my 3.1.66.0 beta install I just tried running Clean Database and afterwards still no seasons. I then ran Scan Library and still no seasons.

This has to be isolated to non-Windows systems then or a configuration issue.  I just clean installed 3.1.66.0 and Library content set to TV with series and episode with no seasons displayed fine.

Can you post another server log.

Not saying it is the issue but that log has a lot of NFO errors and no way to tell what they are pointing to.

I just renamed all the .NFO files to .BAK for one of my problem shows in attempt to troubleshoot the issue.  After renaming all the NFO files I cleaned the db and then immediately scanned the library and the problem show still shows no seasons or episodes.  If the NFO files were the problem, should that have fixed things for that show?

Any ideas what else to try to fix this?

as a test, can you try just setting up a new show with only the video file(s)? thanks.
