ernstgot 17
I have some files with the following specs. Video CodecHEVCProfileMain 10Level153Resolution3840x1600Aspect ratio2.40:1AnamorphicNoInterlacedNoFramerate23.97602Bitrate47030 kbpsPixel formatyuv420p10leRef frames1 I am using Emby for WMC but when playing the video, I'd like to get the TV to pick up that it is a 4k file and switch to a 4K resolution instead it stays on 1080P. Not sure if that makes sense or if it is at all possible.
ebr 14903
This will be a function of the codecs you have installed and how they are configured and whether or not they can support 4K. I believe LAV can do this but I have not tested it in conjunction with WMC (which was last updated by Microsoft when 1080 was the highest resolution available). ernstgot 17
well looks like some videos will play however the one listed above, when i click play it goes to a black screen sitting there saying its playing but nothing happens. I am only guessing its too high of a bit rate to play. It would be nice for 4k files or files with resolutions higher that 1920x1080 to show a 4K logo instead of a 1080 logo

ebr 14903
Perhaps someone who has 4k videos working well with WMC can help out but realize that you are using a technology built long before such resolutions were available to the public. My first guess for the ones that don't work would be the 10-bit color (profile: Main 10).
