Emby for WMC Unresponsive after vacation

Hi folks,

 

Not sure what happened here. Was away from my HTPC for about two weeks due to vacation and work stuff. It was fine before I left.  

 

Today I finally had time to watch a movie so fired up Emby for WMC. It didn't connect to the server. Checked, server not running. This "server shuts down and doesn't start up again" has been going on for months; please guys fix it.

 

Anyway, I started up the server (on the same PC as WMC) and restarted Emby for WMC.

 

It connected. But it was moving like molasses. Got timeout errors from WMC (Telling me Emby program not responding). I would click on something and then a minute or two the click would be recognized. The computer is working fine otherwise; no other programs respond sluggishly, only WMC and only when in Emby for WMC.

 

I figured maybe the Emby Server restart was processing something, so I eventually got my movie going and figured the server would sort it out while I watched.

 

No dice. Two hours later Emby WMC is still super slow. Rebooted computer. No improvement.

Server is 3.0.5972.0.

Emby for WMC says it is up to date.

 

I notice there is no weather info on the enhanced home screen. I'm using ROC as my Theme if that matters (have been for years).

 

It seems over the last six-eight months the chance that I leave the thing working perfectly and I come back to it not functioning has increased dramatically or something about look / feel has changed without my asking it toc. Please prioritize stability over new features.

 

Meanwhile, what further information can I supply to help figure out what is going on

I have the exact same problems here. Sluggish response, WMC timeout errors, no weather.  haven't changed anything on server or media center.

BTW using Chocolate theme if it might matter.

If I switch to Classic Theme, the sluggishness seems at first glance to go away. I'm guessing some old themes got deprecated without an explicit warning to users, but I will wait for the official word.

 

I hope I'm wrong... my family knows how everything is set up in ROC and I don't want to have to reteach them some new interface.

OK so disabled weather and everything is working fine now. 

 

Checked with a couple other themes all worked fine till I enabled weather. Than sluggish freezing exct.

 

Not sure what the issue is but weather seems to cause some problem.

OK, solved. Thanks @@gribbish !

 

I unchecked the "Show Weather" in the ROC options and things went back to normal for it.

 

Any chance the weather function will be replaced soon? The wife and I like that feature...

Same here. Chocolate theme and whether check box in config = freezing EHS.

 

After unchecking the "Show Weather" everything went back to normal.
